The CARIFTA Games is an annual athletics competition founded by the Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA). The games was first held in 1972 and consists of track and field events including sprint races, hurdles, middle distance track events, jumping and throwing events, and relays. The Games has two age categories: under-17 and under-20. Only countries associated with CARIFTA may compete in the competition.
The CARIFTA Aquatics Championships is an annual, age-group aquatics championships for the Caribbean. It has been held since 1985, and is similar in form/origin to the track & field/athletics event: the CARIFTA Games. The event is held under the auspices of CANOC, the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees.
Shellene Williams is a retired female track and field sprinter from Jamaica. She specialized in the 200 metres and the 400 metres. Her personal best time in the women's 200 metres was 23.50 seconds, achieved on May 2004, and her 400 m best was 51.94 seconds, set in June 2004. Williams won a bronze medal in the women's 4×100 metres relay at the 2003 Pan American Games, alongside Lacena Golding-Clarke, Judyth Kitson, and Danielle Browning.

Lewis ran the third leg of the 4 x 400 Relay at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Doha, Qatar.

While attending the Grenada Boys Secondary School he became the under 16 boys Record holder in the Long Jump as well as the under 18 boys Record holder in the Triple Jump. He secured a Silver medal representing Grenada at the 2016 Carifta games with a jump of 14.55m.
