Jordan Youri Gele (born 16 September 1992) is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward for Qatari Second Division club Al Kharaitiyat. [1] [2]
Jordan Gele made his senior debut with Boulogne’s reserve team during the 2012–13 season, competing in the Championnat National 3, the fifth tier of French football. He made 17 appearances and scored one goal for the club during the season. [3] [4]
He joined Compiègne in 2013 on a free transfer, playing in the French fifth division this time as well. During the 2013-14 season he played 11 matches scoring 2 goals. [3] [4]
During the 2014–15 season, Gele played for Sainte-Geneviève in the fifth division, scoring once in eight matches. He left at the end of the season on a free transfer. [3] [4]
For the 2015–16 season, Gele played for Championnat National 2 team Mulhouse, scoring once in 12 matches. [3] [4]
For the 2016-17 season, Gele moved to Nantes B, the reserve team of Nantes, in the Championnat National 2. He made 18 appearances for them. [3] [4]
After spending a whole season without a club, Gele joined Winterthur in the Swiss Challenge League, the second division of Swiss football. During the 2018–19 season, he played six matches scoring once. His only goal came in a 1–1 draw with Schaffhausen right before half-time. [3] [4]
At the end of the 2018–19 season he was released by Winterthur, but he quickly found a new club, signing with Rapperswil-Jona who had just been relegated. For the 2019–20 campaign, they played in the Swiss Promotion League, the Swiss third division. He played three matches and scored three times in the Swiss Cup as Rapperswil-Jona reached the quarterfinals. In the first round he scored twice, including the winner in the 84th minute as Rapperswill beat Muri 3–2. In the round of 16, Rapperswil won 3–2 against Bulle, with Gele scoring the winning goal in the 70th minute. He played the quarter-final match against Sion but lost 2–1 and were eliminated. Gele played 16 matches, scoring seven goals in the Promotion League. Rapperswil were second in the league until the lower divisions of Switzerland were cancelled for the remainder of the season due to COVID-19. [5] [6] [3] [4]
During the 2020–21 season, Rapperswil did not compete in the Swiss Cup as only 18 of the usual 45 slots were allocated to lower division teams due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
In the Promotion League, Gele scored the equaliser in the 95th minute in a 1–1 draw with Bellinzona on 15 August. On 12 September, he scored twice in a 3–2 loss to Sion U21. On 19 September, he scored the third goal and assisted another in a 5–1 win over Black Stars. He scored a hat-trick on 26 September in a 6–1 win over Köniz. On 3 October he once again scored the third goal in a 5-1 win and also provided an assist, this time over SC YF Juventus. On 10 April 2021, he came off the bench in the 79th minute and scored a penalty in the 90th minute to defeat Münsingen 3-0. On April 24 he scored the equaliser with a header just four minutes after going down in a 1-1 draw with FC Bavois. [7] In the playoffs Rapperswil finished in 3rd place meaning they are unable to be promoted. Gele scored twice in a 2-2 draw with Etoile Carouge FC on 21 May and the second goal in a 3-0 win over SC Cham on 22 May. [8] He was the second-highest goalscorer in the Swiss Promotion League during the 2020–21 season. [9]
He scored a penalty on 23 October in a 1-1 draw with Etoile Carouge FC. [10] On 27 November, Gele scored two goals in a 5-3 loss to BSC Young Boys’ reserve team. [11] On 4 December he scored two goals in a 2-1 win over SC Brühl, including a left footed shot. [12] Gele scored a penalty against FC Chiasso on 20 February in a 2-2 draw. [13] On 26 February he scored the third goal in a 3-0 win over SC YF Juventus. [14] Gele scored a penalty in the 90th minute to draw 1-1 with SC Cham on 12 March. [15] Gele scored a left footed goal in a 3-1 win over Basel’s reserve team on 19 March. [16] During the 2021-22 season Gele made 19 appearances and scored 9 goals in the Promotion League regular season. In the playoff round he scored 4 goals in 5 matches. This includes 2 goals in a 3-3 draw with Young Boys’ reserve team, one goal against Basel’s reserves in a 6-4 loss and one goal in a 3-2 win over FC Biel. [17]
Gele signed for CSC 1599 Șelimbăr in 2022, in Liga II, the second division of Romania. [18] He scored 6 goals in 23 matches for Șelimbăr, although he had failed to score any goals in the first half of the season. His first goal was on 25 February in a 4-1 loss to FC Politehnica Iași. [19] He scored a goal in added time in a 2-1 loss to FC Dinamo București on 4 March. [20] On 18 March he scores a goal in a 3-2 win over AFC Unirea Slobozia. [21] He scores in a 2-0 win over CSM Slatina on 8 April. [22] On 23 April, Gele scores in a 2-1 loss to Metaloglobus București. [23] His final goal for Șelimbăr was against Minaur Baia Mare on 29 April in a 1-0 win. [24] Gele went on to sign with FC Wil despite Șelimbar trying to extend his contract.
Gele joined FC Wil in the Swiss Challenge League, the second division of Switzerland in 2023. He spent one season with the team scoring twice before moving to Unirea Slobozia.
In 2024, Gele joined Unirea Slobozia who had just been promoted to Liga I the top division of football in Romania. He played 24 league matches for them scoring 5 times before leaving to join FCSB in February.
On 10 February 2025, FCSB paid €300,000 for the transfer of Gele from fellow Liga I team Unirea Slobozia. His contract lasts until the summer of 2026. [25]
On 15 August 2025, Gele signed with Al Kharaitiyat SC in the Qatari Second Division. [26] He made his debut in a 0-0 draw with Al Bidda SC on 19 August. On 1 September he scored two goals in a 5-1 win over Lusail SC in the Qatari Stars Cup. [27]
