Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca is a Cape Verdean politician, lawyer and university professor who served as the President of Cape Verde from 2011 to 2021. Presidential elections were held in Cape Verde on 2 October 2016, where he was re-elected with 74.08% of the vote.

The 2018 Cape Verdean Football Championship season is the 39th beginner level competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Also it was another season that it was sponsored by a clothing company Tecnicil, it was also known as the 2018 Cape Verdean Tecnicil football season or the 2018 Tecnicil Football Championships. The championship was governed by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. The season began earlier started on 7 April 2018 and finished on 2 June.
Presidential elections were held in Cape Verde on 17 October 2021. The result was a victory for José Maria Neves of the opposition African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV), who received 51.8% of the vote.
Abraão Vicente is Cape Verdean politician currently serving as both Minister of Culture and Creative Industries and Minister of the Sea. Vicente is a sociologist, painter and self-taught photographer.
Luís Filipe Tavares is Cape Verdean politician who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities & Minister of Defence of Cape Verde. He resigned from this position in April 2021 following allegations of corruption. He was decorated with "Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite" by the French President Nicolas Sarkosy.
