Josef Vávra (born 17 March 1984) is a Czech former professional ice hockey left winger.

Vávra was selected in the eighth round, 246th overall by the Ottawa Senators in 2002 NHL Entry Draft. [1] He played for the Tri-City Americans and the Kootenay Ice of the jWestern Hockey League before playing four games for VHK Vsetín in the Czech Extraliga. He later played for HC Sareza Ostrava in the Czech 1.liga as well as for HC Valašské Meziříčí of the Czech 2.liga.

Vávra retired from ice hockey in 2006 to work in his father’s business. His teammate from age ten through his time with VHK Vsetin, Robin Kovář, said about Vávra’s retirement, “I think he made a wrong decision to quit, but that’s life.” [2]

Valašský hokejový klub Vsetín, also known as Hockey Club Vsetín, is a professional ice hockey team in the Czech 1. liga. The team is the most successful team in Czech Republic ice hockey history, winning five straight Extraliga championships between 1995 and 1999, and another in 2001 for six titles in seven years. Their home arena is Zimní stadion Na Lapači in Vsetín. In the 2005–06 and 2006-07 seasons, they finished at the bottom of the league and did not participate in any competition in the 2007-08 season due to financial problems. Hockey returned to Vsetín a year later, when a new team was founded. The team has been playing in the Czech 1. liga since the 2017-18 season after being promoted from the Czech 2. liga in 2016-17.

Martin Procházka is a Czech former professional ice hockey player. Procházka was drafted 135th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft and played 32 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Maple Leafs and Atlanta Thrashers. In his NHL career, he scored two goals and five assists for seven points, collecting eight penalty minutes. He tallied an assist on the first goal in Atlanta Thrashers history, a 4–1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on October 2, 1999, his only point as a Thrasher. He has also had spells in Sweden's Elitserien for AIK Hockey and the Russian Super League (RSL) for Avangard Omsk and Khimik Voskresensk. He won a gold medal with the Czech Republic in the 1998 Winter Olympics.
