Joseph P. Ward is an American historian and author who is currently dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Utah State University.

Biography

Joseph Ward grew up in Southern New England, seeing massive upheaval from the loss of manufacturing jobs, a change he later credited for his interest in history. [1] Ward earned his Bachelor of Arts in history at University of Chicago and received a masters and a doctorate in history from Stanford University. [2] [3] In 2017 he was made [4] the head of the search committee for Utah State's next provost, a position previously held by current president Noelle E. Cockett. That search eventually led to hiring of Frank Galey. [5] [6]

It was announced he would retire effective July 1, 2022. He will be replaced by current VP of Statewide Campuses, Larry Smith.

Karen Dale Williams Morse is a inorganic chemist. She was president of Western Washington University from 1993 until 2008, and was named the Bowman Distinguished Professor in 2014. She is an elected fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Laurens H. "Larry" Smith is the Provost of Utah State University. Most recently the VP of Statewide Campuses for Utah State. He has held many administrative roles at USU, including interim and permanent roles in Research, Graduate Programs, and other including holding the same position as Provost for 18 months from 2016 to 2018. He has previously been faculty, in a teaching and research role at the Idaho State University.

Richard Paul Saller is an American professor of European studies. He is the former provost of the University of Chicago and the former dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences at Stanford University, where he is currently the university's president.
