Joshua David Sullivan (born July 5,1984) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Prior to becoming a professional,Sullivan attended Auburn University,where he played college baseball and college football for the Auburn Tigers.
Sullivan attended Little Rock Central High School in Little Rock,Arkansas,graduating in 2002. [1] [2] He played for the baseball and American football teams at Little Rock Central. Recruited as a pitcher and infielder by many baseball programs,Sullivan chose to enroll at Auburn University,which offered him the opportunity to play football as well as baseball. [3]
Sullivan played college baseball for the Auburn Tigers baseball team. He was also a walk-on for the Auburn Tigers football team as a quarterback,backing up Jason Campbell as a redshirt freshman,surpassing Brandon Cox on the Tigers' depth chart. [4] [5] [6] As a sophomore,Sullivan chose to pursue baseball full-time,giving up football. [7]
The Rockies drafted Sullivan in the fifth round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft. [1] He endured arm surgeries that limited his appearances in minor league baseball. [8] These surgeries included shoulder surgery in 2007,elbow surgery in 2008,and elbow ligament replacement surgery in March 2009. [1] Sullivan opened the 2011 and 2012 seasons with the Tulsa Drillers of the Class AA Texas League. [9] [10]
The Rockies added Sullivan to their forty-man roster after the 2012 season. [11] Sullivan was designated for assignment on August 1,2013,to make room on the forty-man roster for Chad Bettis. [12]
Sullivan is the third of nine children. [13] His father played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team. [14] He is married;his wife's name is Lyndsey. [1]
Chin-Hui Tsao is a Taiwanese former professional baseball pitcher. He is the second major league player,and the first major league pitcher from Taiwan. Like the first Taiwanese major league player,former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Chin-Feng Chen,he is a Taiwanese aborigine of Amis ancestry. He had previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Colorado Rockies and Dodgers before spending the 2009 season with the Brother Elephants in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). After the 2009 Taiwan Series,Tsao was investigated for game-fixing scandals,although he was ultimately not indicted on February 10,2010. Tsao was expelled by CPBL on December 23,2009. He has recorded the fastest pitch by a Taiwanese pitcher at 100 mph in 2005.

The 1997 Auburn Tigers football team represented Auburn University in the 1997 NCAA Division I-A football season. The team,coached by Terry Bowden,finished with a 10–3 record and won the school's first SEC West Division championship,but lost by a point to Tennessee in the 1997 SEC Championship Game. The Tigers ended the season with a #11 ranking in the AP Poll and the Coaches' Poll after winning the Peach Bowl against Clemson on January 2.

It was the Tigers' 74th overall and 32nd season as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The team was led by head coach Ralph "Shug" Jordan,in his 15th year,and played their home games at Cliff Hare Stadium in Auburn and Legion Field in Birmingham,Alabama. They finished with a record of five wins,five losses and one tie and with a loss against Ole Miss in the Liberty Bowl.
