Carlos Prats González was a Chilean Army officer and politician. He served as a minister in Salvador Allende's government while Commander-in-chief of the Chilean Army. He resigned in August 1973 amid growing national discontent. Immediately after General Augusto Pinochet's September 11,1973 coup,Prats went into voluntary exile in Argentina. The following year,he and his wife,Sofía Cuthbert,were assassinated in Buenos Aires by a car bomb planted by the Dirección de Inteligencia Nacional.

Commodore Arturo Merino Benítez,was an aviator with rank of Commodore,and the founder of both the Chilean Air Force (1930) and LAN Chile (1929) the national airline. Known as the “Father of Chilean Aeronautics.”Chile's largest airport was named in his honour,Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport. His parents were Pedro Merino Feliúand Clorinda Benítez Labbé. He was considered a close ally of Chilean socialist President Salvador Allende. He died from a stroke at age 82,his remains are at the Cementerio General de Santiago.
General Sverker John Olof Göranson is a retired Swedish Army officer. Sverkerson was commissioned as an officer in 1977. During the 1990s,Göranson embarked on an international career. He completed the Swedish National Defence College's Command Course and attended several courses in international humanitarian law before relocating to the United States Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth,Kansas. In 1994,he also completed the United Nations Staff Officers Course. Notably,Göranson served as the Chief of Staff in Nordbat 2/BA 05 within the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) in Bosnia from 1995 to 1996 and later as the Deputy Battalion Commander in Swebat within the Implementation Force (IFOR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1996. Upon his return to Sweden,Göranson assumed the position of Deputy Brigade Commander at the Scanian Brigade and later became the Brigade Commander of the Life Guards Brigade before taking up the role of Military Attachéand Assistant Defence Attachéin Washington,D.C. He assumed the position of Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces in 2009.

Alexander has participated in airborne exercises and conferences with the British Army,and has jumped with and been awarded parachute wings by the Chilean,British and ROC (Taiwan) Armies. He has written many articles on military topics,some of which have been published internationally,including one by the US Army. He has also authored or co-authored three books. Alexander delivered the 2006 Turner Lecture at the SA Military Academy and in the same year delivered a paper at a Military History Conference on Small Wars and Insurgencies in Canberra,Australia. Besides the BMil degree from the University of Stellenbosch,he holds an Honours BA,an MA and a PhD in history from the University of South Africa.
