Poland competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. 201 competitors, 149 men and 52 women, took part in 136 events in 21 sports.
Israel competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. 30 competitors, 25 men and 5 women, took part in 42 events in 10 sports. Israel won its first ever Olympic medals at these Games. The first medallist in Israel's history was Yael Arad, who won silver on July 30 in judo's under-61 kg category for women, and she was followed a day later by another judoka, Oren Smadja, who won bronze in men's under-71 kg category.
Judo was first included in the Summer Olympic Games at the 1964 Games in Tokyo, Japan. After not being included in 1968, judo has been an Olympic sport in each Olympiad since then. Only male judoka participated until the 1988 Summer Olympics, when women participated as a demonstration sport. Women judoka were first awarded medals at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Jason Newth Morris is a retired American judoka. He was a four-time Olympian and 2008 Olympic Coach, is best known for winning the silver medal in the -78kg weight category in the 1992 Summer Olympics and a Bronze Medal in the 1993 World Judo Championships. He is a Hachidan his favorite techniques are Uchi Mata, Tai Otoshi, and his "Sticker or Sticky Foot".
Theodorus ("Theo") Johannes Meijer is a retired judoka from the Netherlands, who represented his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics. He won the bronze medal in the men's half-heavyweight division in Barcelona, Spain (1992), alongside Dmitri Sergeyev who represented the Unified Team.
Albania first participated at the Summer Olympic Games in 1972. They missed the next four games, three of them for political reasons due to the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott, 1984 Summer Olympics boycott and 1988 boycotts, but returned for the Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympics. Aurélio Fernández Miguel is a Brazilian judoka and Olympic champion, and later politician. Among his best sporting achievements are his gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, and a bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
