Julia Agawu

Julia Agawu (born 20 April 1991) is a Ghanaian discus thrower.

She finished fourth at the 2014 African Championships, won the bronze medal at the 2015 African Games and finished fourth again at the 2016 African Championships. She also competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games without reaching the final; and in the shot put event she finished seventh at the 2014 African Championships.

Her personal best throw is 54.59 metres, achieved in May 2013 in Miramar. She has 14.91 metres in the shot put, achieved in April 2013 in Knoxville. [1] [2]

The men's shot put at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens was held on August 18, 2004, at the Ancient Olympia Stadium. It was originally planned to hold the discus throw at this venue, but it was discovered that the field was insufficiently large to accommodate the range of modern discus throwers, and would have posed a danger to spectators. As such, it was decided instead to hold the shot put at the site, despite the fact that the shot put was not contested at the Ancient Olympic Games. All distances are given in metres. Thirty-nine athletes from 26 nations competed.

Dani Stevens is a retired Australian discus thrower who in 2009 became the youngest ever female world champion in the event. She is the current national and Oceanian record holder. Stevens qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and threw 58.77m in the Women's dicus throw. This was not a sufficient distance to qualify her for the final.

Anna Mikhailovna Avdeyeva is a Russian shot putter. She was fifth at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics and improved to fourth at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Her personal best throw is 20.07 metres, achieved in July 2009 in Cheboksary.

Stephanie Storp is a retired female shot putter from Germany. Her best performance was winning the bronze medal at the 1997 World Championships, with a throw of 19.22 metres. She also won the silver medal at the 1993 World Indoor Championships, and represented her country in the Summer Olympics of 1992 and 1996. She ended her athletics career in 1998, having taken up basketball as a new sport.
