On July 17, 2015, an announcement was made that Julie Wright would be appointed as the new head coach of the Maryland softball program. [2] [3] Wright stepped down as head coach after 4 seasons. [4]

The Maryland Terrapins baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of University of Maryland, College Park in College Park, Maryland, United States. The program's first season was in 1893, and it has been a member of the NCAA Division I Big Ten Conference since the start of the 2015 season. Its home venue is Shipley Field at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium, located on Maryland's campus. Matt Swope is the current head coach. The program has appeared in six NCAA tournaments. Amber Jackson is an African-American, former collegiate All-American and retired professional softball player and former college softball head coach. She played for three years with the Bethune–Cookman Wildcats, from 2003 to 2005, before transferring to the Maryland Terrapins for the 2007 season. She is the season and career leader in numerous offense categories for both institutions, and is the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference career leader in hits, triples and runs in three seasons.

The 2020–21 Maryland Terrapins men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland, College Park in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by 10th-year head coach Mark Turgeon and play their home games at Xfinity Center in College Park, Maryland, as members of the Big Ten Conference. The Terrapins finished the season 17–14, 9–11 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for eighth place. As the No. 8 seed in the Big Ten tournament, they defeated Michigan State in the second round before losing to Michigan in the quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 10 seed in the East region. The defeated UConn in the first round before losing to Alabama in the second round.

Lauren Karn is an American former softball player and current head coach at Maryland. She previously served as the head coach at Oakland.
