Julie Wright is an American softball coach who is the former head coach of Maryland. [1]
On July 17, 2015, an announcement was made that Julie Wright would be appointed as the new head coach of the Maryland softball program. [2] [3] Wright stepped down as head coach after 4 seasons. [4]

The Maryland Terrapins women's basketball are an American basketball team. The team represents the University of Maryland in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I competition. Maryland, a founding member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), left the ACC in 2014 to join the Big Ten Conference. The program won the 2006 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament championship and has appeared in the NCAA Final Four five times ; Maryland also appeared once in the AIAW Final Four (1978). As members of the ACC, the Terrapins won regular season conference championships and an ACC-record ten conference tournament championships. The program won the Big Ten Conference regular season and tournament championships in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2021.
The 2001–02 Maryland Terrapins men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland in the 2001–2002 college basketball season as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The team was led by head coach Gary Williams and played their home games at Cole Field House. The Terrapins were champions of the 2002 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, earning the first national championship in school history.

The program's first season was in 1893, and it has been a member of the NCAA Division I Big Ten Conference since the start of the 2015 season. Its home venue is Shipley Field at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium, located on Maryland's campus. Matt Swope is the current head coach. The program has appeared in six NCAA tournaments. It has won one conference tournament championship and five regular season conference titles. As of the start of the 2021 Major League Baseball season, 38 former Terrapins have appeared in Major League Baseball.
The 1945 Maryland Terrapins football team was an American football team that represented the University of Maryland as a member of the Southern Conference during the 1945 college football season. In its first and only season under head coach Bear Bryant, the team compiled a 6–2–1 record, tied for fifth place in the conference, and outscored opponents by a total of 219 to 105.
Amber Jackson is an African-American, former collegiate All-American and retired professional softball player and former college softball head coach. She played for three years with the Bethune–Cookman Wildcats, from 2003 to 2005, before transferring to the Maryland Terrapins for the 2007 season. She is the season and career leader in numerous offense categories for both institutions, and is the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference career leader in hits, triples and runs in three seasons.
John Szefc is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as the head coach of the Virginia Tech baseball team. He has held that position since leaving the University of Maryland in June, 2017, where he had coached since the 2013 season.

The 2019 NCAA Division I Softball season, play of college softball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began February 7, 2019. The season will progress through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and will conclude with the 2019 NCAA Division I softball tournament and 2019 Women's College World Series. The Women's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament will be held annually in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, will end in June 2019.
The 2020 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team represented the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the 2020 NCAA Division I softball season. The Ragin' Cajuns played their home games at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park. The Cajuns were led by third year head coach Gerry Glasco.
The 2020 Big Ten softball season began with practices in January 2020, followed by the start of the 2020 NCAA Division I softball season in February. Conference will start in March 2020 and will conclude in May, followed by the 2020 Big Ten Conference softball tournament at Eichelberger Field in Champaign, Illinois, in May.
The 2020–21 Maryland Terrapins men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland, College Park in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by 10th-year head coach Mark Turgeon and play their home games at Xfinity Center in College Park, Maryland, as members of the Big Ten Conference. The Terrapins finished the season 17–14, 9–11 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for eighth place. As the No. 8 seed in the Big Ten tournament, they defeated Michigan State in the second round before losing to Michigan in the quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 10 seed in the East region. The defeated UConn in the first round before losing to Alabama in the second round.
