Jungle Rumble: Freedom, Happiness, and Bananas is a 2014 indie game developed and published by American indie studio Disco Pixel. The game is a crossover between a rhythm game and a real-time strategy game in which the player drums on a mobile screen to control a tribe of monkeys.
The game is played on a mobile device held vertically. The player drums on monkeys to control them, with different patterns for moving and attacking. [1] Consistently moving builds "mojo" which increases the player's power. [2] Enemy monkeys attack and the player must strategize to avoid being overrun. [3]
The pattern tapped on the screen specifies the action and the objects tapped on specify what performs the action. The player continuously drums on things in the jungle in order to play the game. Designer Trevor Stricker has called this a "Rhythmic Grammar". [4]

The game was released on March 22, 2011 and promoted as a marketing tie-in with the 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios co-produced animated film Rio. Rymdkapsel is a 2013 minimalist real-time strategy video game by indie developer Grapefrukt, the studio of Martin Jonasson. Players build a space station using tetromino pieces while managing resources and minions, defending against attacks, and extending the base towards four monoliths at the edges of the level. The game was built over a year and a half and was inspired by the base-building aspects of the Command & Conquer series. It was Jonasson's first full game as an indie developer. Rymdkapsel was released on May 7, 2013 for PlayStation Mobile, and was later ported to iOS, Android, Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux. Reviewers gave the game generally favorable reviews, where they appreciated its simplicity and challenge, but not its brevity and slow start.
Worms 3 is an artillery turn-based tactics video game in the Worms series developed and published by Team17 for iOS on August 8, 2013, and released for Android devices via the Play Store and Mac OS X computers in 2014.
SteamWorld Dig is a platform action-adventure game created by Swedish video game developer Image & Form. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz is a platform video game developed by Marvelous AQL and published by Sega for the PlayStation Vita. Similar to other entries in the Super Monkey Ball series, the game involves the player directing a monkey encased in a sphere through an obstacle course to a gate at the end of the level. The game was released early on in the Vita's lifespan, in June 2012 in Japan, and in October in Western regions. Monument Valley is a puzzle and indie game by Ustwo Games. The player leads the princess Ida through mazes of optical illusions and impossible objects while manipulating the world around her to reach various platforms. Monument Valley was developed over ten months beginning in early 2013 based on concept drawings by company artist Ken Wong. Its visual style was inspired by Japanese prints, minimalist sculpture, and indie games Windosill, Fez, and Sword & Sworcery, and was compared by critics to M. C. Escher drawings and Echochrome. The art was designed such that each frame would be worthy of public display.
Race the Sun is an endless running video game developed and published by American indie studio Flippfly and released on August 19, 2013 for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux platforms. In Race the Sun, the player controls a solar-powered spaceship, dodging various objects on the way such as laser beams, other ships and other stationary obstacles, while gathering pick ups that can be used in game, all while the sun slowly sets on the horizon. The game ends either when the player hits an object and the ship gets destroyed, or when the sun sets.
Hitman Go is a turn-based puzzle video game developed by Square Enix Montréal and published by Square Enix's European subsidiary. Announced in February 2014, the game was released for iOS in April 2014 and for Android in June 2014. Windows and Windows Phone versions were released the following year in April 2015.
