Just Reality is the second solo studio album by Jamaican dancehall/reggae recording artist Shabba Ranks. It was released in 1990 via VP Records, and produced by Bobby "Digital" Dixon.

This album did not receive as many good reviews as its predecessor, however, it did include the huge hit "Wicked Inna Bed" and the hugely influential track "Dem Bow", [2] which went on to be instrumental in the birth of reggaeton as a genre.

Reggaeton Music genre

Reggaeton, also known as reggaetón and reguetón, is a music style that originated in Puerto Rico during the mid-1990s. It has evolved from dancehall and has been influenced by American hip hop, Latin American, and Caribbean music. Vocals include rapping and singing, typically in Spanish.

Shabba Ranks is a Jamaican dancehall musician.

Robert Dixon, known as Bobby Digital, was a Jamaican reggae and dancehall producer. He was given his nickname "Bobby Digital" because King Jammy, with whom he worked in the mid-1980s, had begun experimenting with digital rhythms at around the same time. He owned the Digital B label, and among the artists with hits on the label are Shabba Ranks and Sizzla. He has influenced reggae artists such as Admiral Tibet.

Dembow is a musical rhythm which originated in Jamaica. When Shabba Ranks released "Dem Bow" in 1990, it did not take long for the dembow genre to form. Riddims were built from the song and the sound became a popular part of reggaeton. From the original song of "Dem Bow" originating in Jamaica, it then reached New York and the genre of dembow moved next to Puerto Rico, and eventually reaching the Dominican Republic.

Oswald Priest, better known as Mad Lion, is a dancehall, ragga musician and rapper. He frequently collaborates with fellow hip hop artist KRS-One. His awards include the 1994 Source Award as Reggae Artist of the Year, and the 1995 Source Award as Reggae Hip-Hop Artist of the Year.
