Just a couple is a British comedy-drama television miniseries created by Sebastian Thiel. Originally pitched by Upshot Entertainment in 2013, [1] it was then further developed by Big Talk Productions in 2016. [2]

Contents

The show explores the trials and tribulations of a millennial couple's relationship, through comedy. [3] The series routes itself within the small details of what it's really like to be in a relationship. Episodes explore things like, the act of betraying your partner by finishing a Netflix series - when you promised to watch it together. [4]

Just a Couple premiered on BBC Three on 9 March 2017. [5] The show stars Frieda Thiel, Sebastian Thiel's younger sister, Michael Salami, Weruche Opia and Sean Sagar. [6]

In 2018, Just a Couple won Favourite Comedy Production at the Screen Nation Awards and Debut Writer Award at The Debbies [7]

<i>Inside No. 9</i> British dark comedy anthology television program

Inside No. 9 is a British black comedy anthology television programme that first aired in 2014. It is written by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton and produced by the BBC. Each 30-minute episode is a self-contained story with new characters and a new setting, and all star at least one of Pemberton and Shearsmith. Aside from the writers, each episode has a new cast, allowing Inside No. 9 to attract a number of well-known actors. The stories are linked only by the number 9 in some way and a brass hare statue that is in the background of all episodes. Settings include a suburban house, a gothic mansion and a barn. Pemberton and Shearsmith took inspiration for Inside No. 9 from an episode of Psychoville, a previous project, which was filmed in a single room. This episode was, in turn, inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Rope.

<i>This Country</i> British television series

This Country is a British mockumentary sitcom, first broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC Three on 8 February 2017. Created by, written by and starring siblings Daisy May and Charlie Cooper, the series is about the day-to-day lives of two young people living in a small village in the Cotswolds. The programme centres on themes of social clumsiness, the trivialities of human behaviour, the eccentricities of living in rural England, and the boredom and social isolation of young people in small communities. Following rave reviews and over four million iPlayer requests, on 18 July 2017 the BBC renewed the programme for a second series, the first episode of which released on 26 February 2018. On 20 April 2018, the BBC renewed the programme for a 40-minute one-off special, as well as a third and final series, which aired from February 2020 to March 2020.

Sliced is a three-part British television sitcom which began airing on 15 May 2019. It was created and written by Phil Bowker and Samson Kayo for broadcast on Dave. The show follows two friends and fellow pizza delivery drivers Joshua and Ricky in south London, who just want to make some money, move out of their family homes and meet some women. The series stars David Mumeni, Phil Daniels, Samson Kayo and Nahel Tzegai. In January 2020, it was renewed for a 6-episode second series, to premiere later in the year.

I May Destroy You is a British drama television series created, written, co-directed, and executive produced by Michaela Coel for BBC One and HBO. The series is set in London with a predominantly Black British cast. Coel stars as Arabella, a young woman who seeks to rebuild her life after being raped. The series premiered on 8 June 2020 on BBC One and on 7 June 2020 on HBO.

Slumberland is an upcoming American fantasy-adventure film directed by Francis Lawrence from a script by David Guion and Michael Handelman for Netflix. Based on the comic book series titled Little Nemo in Slumberland by Winsor McCay, it stars Jason Momoa, Weruche Opia, India de Beaufort, Kyle Chandler, Chris O'Dowd, and Marlow Barkley. It is scheduled for a release sometime in 2022.
