K. Rajan is an Indian film producer and film director who has worked on Tamil films.
Rajan began his career as a producer through the Tamil film, Brammacharigal (1983) starring Suresh. In 1991, he directed the film Namma Ooru Mariamma starring Nizhalgal Ravi and Sarathkumar, before working as a writer on Thangamana Thangachi (1991) for director Senthilnathan. For the films, he associated with Ganesh Cine Arts and music composers Shankar–Ganesh. [2]
In 2000, Rajan took on the role of the president of Chennai Distributors Association. [3] Rajan launched his son Prabhukanth as an actor in 2000, who acted in his first lead role through Aval Paavam (2000). Prabhukanth also featured as the antagonist in Doubles (2000), and later worked on Ninaikkatha Naalillai (2001), before making a return as a film director through LKG (2019). [4] During the early 2000s, Rajan also worked on another project, Babu Ganesh's Kudumbam Oru Koiyil starring Ramki, although the project was later dropped. [3]
In June 2005, director Rajan chose to shelve his proposed biopic of Sivakasi Jayalakshmi titled Niram Maraiya Rojakal starring Vindya. He then began working on a directorial project titled Unarchigal which would explore the life of adolescent youths and cast actresses Devayani and Sindhuri in the lead roles, alongside newcomer male actors. [5] However a production delay meant that the film went through a change of cast and Rajan started the project with Abbas and Kunal. [6] [7] [8]
K. Rajan has attracted controversy for his statements on Tamil cinema.
In June 2001, Rajan was arrested for attacking fellow producer Keyaar. [9]
In April 2019, at the launch of the soundtrack of the film Ettuthikkum Para (2020), Rajan threatened singer Chinmayi over her claims in the Me Too movement against Vairamuthu. At the same event, director Pa. Ranjith criticised Rajan's remarks. [10] [11] During a public speech in December 2019, he criticised actors Kamal Haasan and Dhanush, and directors Selvaraghavan and Gautham Vasudev Menon, for their loss-making films. He made directed reference to films such as Aayirathil Oruvan (2010) and Enai Noki Paayum Thota (2019). [12] The following month, he spoke out against Nayanthara for charging a high remuneration for her films. [13] [14] In 2019 and 2020, he has also publicly criticised Yogi Babu at the audio launch of Paramapadham Vilayattu (2021), Bharathirajaa for starting a rival producers' association, and the Animal Welfare Board of India for allegedly taking bribes. Sarathkumar Ramanathan is an Indian actor, politician, filmmaker and former bodybuilder who works predominantly in Tamil cinema in addition to Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. He has acted in more than 145 films and won two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South.

The film also stars Pandiyan, Revathi and Seetha. It was released on 7 December 1985, and became a box office success. The film was remade into Telugu as Naku Pellam Kavali (1987) and in Kannada as Ramakrishna (2004).

His most popular roles have been as a supporting actor or as a villain in films such as Thaayillamal Naan Illai (1979) and Athisaya Piravi (1990). Thalaimurai (transl. Generation) is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Saravana Pandian and produced by M. K. Hari Shankar. The film stars director K. S. Adhiyaman in leading role along with Rajkiran, Kanaka, Bhanupriya, Revathi and Rajkapoor playing supporting roles. Revathi received Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize for Best Actress. Adhiyaman, the lead actor of this film later directed Telugu remake of this film Bobbili Vamsam.

He made his directorial debut with the 2012 romantic comedy Attakathi, before earning unanimously positive reviews for his second film, the political action-drama Madras (2014). He wrote and directed the action-drama films Kabali in 2016 and Kaala in 2018, both starring Rajinikanth.
R. S. Shivaji was an Indian actor, who was known for his work in Tamil films. He had often collaborated in films involving Kamal Haasan and Raaj Kamal Films International, working as an assistant director, sound designer and line producer on film projects.
