Minnale (transl. Lightning) is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language romance film directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The story was written by Menon and Vipul D. Shah, starring Madhavan, Abbas, Reema Sen, Vivek and Nagesh. The film tells the story of a love-struck man, stealing the identity of his former college foe, to pursue his lady love, and the eventual repercussions he has to face when his cover is blown before he could come clean. The film's original soundtrack composed by debutant music composer Harris Jayaraj, became popular prior to the film's release. The cinematography of the film was handled by R. D. Rajasekhar and it was edited by Suresh Urs.

It was also remade in Bangladesh as Narir Mon, starring Riaz, Shakil Khan and Shabnur, respectively.
Taj Mahal is a 1999 Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Bharathiraja. The film stars his son, Manoj, and Riya Sen in their debut as lead actors, with a supporting ensemble cast including Revathi, Raadhika, and Ranjitha. The film was written by Mani Ratnam while the music was composed by A. R. Rahman and B. Kannan handled the camera. Guru En Aalu is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by Selva and produced by K. R. Gangadharan. K. T. Kunjumon is a former Indian film producer and writer, politician active in Tamil and Malayalam films. He began his career co-producing several Malayalam films, often working with director P. G. Viswambharan. His first Kollywood project, Pavithran's Suriyan as Sarathkumar's first solo lead role was a success. Kunjumon's second venture, S. Shankar's directorial debut Gentleman was a major success and set several records for Tamil film production. His subsequent films, Kaadhalan (1994) and Kadhal Desam (1996) were also successful, while Ratchagan (1997) became the most expensive Tamil film ever made on release.
Silambarasan is an Indian actor, director, producer, and singer, who works in Tamil cinema. He began his career playing minor roles as a child artist in films produced by his father, T. Rajendar. His debut, as a lead actor, was in Kadhal Azhivathillai (2002), which was produced and directed by his father. His second film Dum (2003), a remake of the 2002 Kannada film Appu, fared well commercially. In the same year he appeared in Alai, a box office failure.
Idi Sangathi is a 2008 Telugu film directed by Chandra Siddhartha. The film stars Tabu and Abbas in the lead roles with Raja in a cameo role. This film marks the third collaboration of Abbas and Tabu after the Tamil films Kadhal Desam (1996) and Kandukondain Kandukondain (2000). The film is an adaptation of the novel Nuvve Kaadu.
