Sonia Agarwal is an Indian actress known for her works predominantly in Tamil cinema and a few Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. She is best known for her performances in films such as Kaadhal Kondein (2003), 7G Rainbow Colony / 7G Brindavan Colony (2004) and Pudhupettai (2006). [1] [2]
Featuring her former brother-in-law Dhanush, Kaadhal Kondein became a huge success and she was widely appreciated for her performance as Divya in the film, which brought her into the limelight and fetched her the ITFA Best New Actress Award at International Tamil Film Awards in 2004. [3] She acted alongside Silambarasan and Vijay in the films Kovil and Madhurey , respectively. After appearing in the films Oru Kalluriyin Kathai and Oru Naal Oru Kanavu in 2005, both of which failing to perform at the box office, she got roles in the films Thiruttu Payale and Pudhupettai . The former, directed by Susi Ganesan, became a highly successful film, whilst the latter, another Selvaraghavan film, received universal critical acclaim. [4] [5]
Born in Chandigarh, Sonia's mother tongue is Punjabi. Sonia married Selvaraghavan, [6] a director in Tamil cinema, in December 2006. She gave up acting after her marriage. The couple divorced in 2010. [7] She has since returned to performing.
During her school days, Sonia got an offer to act in a serial on Zee TV. She then made her film debut with the 2002 Telugu film, Nee Premakai , in which she had a small role, after which she acted in a Kannada film Chandu opposite Sudeep. [4] [5]
After getting divorced, she made a re-entry, playing a supporting role in the multi-starrer Vaanam , following which she signed up for four projects, three in Tamil and one in Malayalam, in quick succession. [8] Her next releases were Sadhurangam , opposite Srikanth once again, in 2011 and Oru Nadigayin Vakku Moolam in early 2012. Her films include Poi Sollathedi and Achchamenndid not do well in the box office. In 2018, she signed on for four Malayalam films. [9] [4] [5]

Yuvan Shankar Raja is an Indian Composer and Singer-songwriter. He mainly scores music for Tamil films along with few Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films. Considered a versatile composer, he is particularly known for his use of Western music elements and often credited with having introduced hip hop to the Tamil film and music industry and started the "era of remixes" in Tamil Nadu which included mixed EDM and jazz. He is frequently referred to as the "BGM King" and the "Young Maestro" of Tamil Film Music. Yuvan has won two Filmfare Awards South, five Mirchi Music Awards South, three Vijay Awards and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
Meena Durairaj, known professionally as Meena, is an Indian actress who predominantly works in South Indian films as well as Hindi cinema. She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Meena has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films She is one of the most sought after actresses in the South Indian film industry. In addition to acting, Meena is also a playback singer, TV judge, and occasional dubbing artist. Selvaraghavan is an Indian film director, screenwriter and actor who has directed and acted predominantly Tamil films. His directorial debut had with Thulluvadho Ilamai (2002) but his father is credited for business reasons, which stars his brother Dhanush K. Raja, Selvaraghavan went on to make a series of romantic drama films with Kadhal Kondein (2003) and 7G Rainbow Colony (2004) before also venturing into coming-of-age films Pudhupettai (2006) and Mayakkam Enna (2011), both starring Dhanush. He has also ventured into making science fiction and fantasy films, such as depicting a fantasy Chola kingdom in Aayirathil Oruvan (2010) and a parallel universe in Irandam Ulagam (2013). He has been critically acclaimed for his directorial skills.
7G Rainbow Colony is a 2004 Indian romantic drama film written and directed by Selvaraghavan. The film is shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu languages, the latter titled 7G Brindavan Colony. It stars debutant Ravi Krishna and Sonia Agarwal. The music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja while Arvind Krishna performed the cinematography. The film deals with unrequited love of a boy towards a girl.
Kaadhal Kondein is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language romantic psychological thriller film written and directed by Selvaraghavan, credited as his directorial debut. The film stars his brother Dhanush and newcomers Sonia Agarwal and Sudeep Sarangi, while Nagesh and Daniel Balaji play supporting roles. The film, which has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography handled by Arvind Krishna, released on 4 July 2003, becoming a critical and commercial success upon release. The film is considered a breakthrough for Dhanush as it catapulted him into the league of lead actors in the Tamil film industry.
Pudhupettai is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language crime action film written and directed by Selvaraghavan starring his brother Dhanush in the lead role, while Sonia Agarwal and Sneha play supporting roles. It follows the story of a slum-dwelling student from Pudhupettai who rises to become a dreaded gangster in North Chennai as a means of survival.
Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule is a 2007 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film written and directed by Selvaraghavan. The film stars Venkatesh, K. Viswanath and Trisha while Sriram, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Sunil play supporting roles. The music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film's title is based on a song from Missamma (1955), which is partially featured in this film.

Yuvan – Live in Concert is a concert by Indian musician Yuvan Shankar Raja. The concert, Yuvan's second in his career, took place on Pongal, 16 January 2011 at the YMCA Grounds, Nandanam, Chennai. Following the announcement, popular Tamil television STAR Vijay agreed to collaborate, sponsoring, organising and marketing the concert, while airing a special television series about Yuvan Shankar Raja, with family members and prominent celebrities closely associated to him participating, besides producing a promotional music video, titled "I'll be there for you". The five-hour show, which was attended by 20,000 people, including several noted film personalities, was received very positively and considered a highly successful event. The concert was aired on 11 and 12 February, Friday and Saturday at 2000 hrs on Vijay TV.

Grandma is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language thriller film directed by Shijinlal and starring Sonia Agarwal, Vimala Raman and Pournami. It was released on 8 July 2022.
