Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, often referred to by his initials NTR, was an Indian actor, filmmaker and politician who served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms. He starred in over 300 films, predominantly in Telugu cinema, and was referred to as Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarwa Bhouma. Rao received three National Film Awards for co-producing Thodu Dongalu (1954) and Seetharama Kalyanam (1960) under National Art Theater, Madras, and for directing Varakatnam (1970). Known for his breakthrough performances in Raju Peda (1954) and Lava Kusa (1963), Rao garnered the Nandi Award for Best Actor for Kodalu Diddina Kapuram in 1970, and the Inaugural Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu in 1972 for Badi Panthulu.
Akkineni Nageswara Rao, widely known as ANR, was an Indian actor and producer, known for his works majorly in Telugu cinema. He starred in many landmark films in his seventy five-year career, and became one of the most prominent figures of Telugu cinema. He has directed more than 150 feature films in a variety of genres. He holds the Limca World Record for directing the most number of films in the world. He is known by the moniker Darsaka Ratna. Abhilasha (transl. Desire) is a 1983 Indian Telugu-language thriller film directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy and produced by K. S. Rama Rao. The film stars Chiranjeevi and Raadhika while Rao Gopal Rao and Gollapudi Maruti Rao play vital roles and the music is composed by Ilaiyaraaja. An adaptation of Yandamuri Veerendranath's novel of the same name, it revolves around a young lawyer striving to end capital punishment in India, but gets himself entangled in a murder case.

In a film career spanning more than twenty five years, Rao starred in over four hundred feature films in a variety of characters. Rao was known for his gruesome portrayals of antagonist roles with a touch of humour. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is an Indian film editor. In the film industry many call him Chanti Garu. He is the younger brother of Kotagiri Gopala Rao, who died on 6 November 2012, a known film editor and producer, who holds the banner of Giri Films with which he produced several Telugu films.

Maro Charitra is a 1978 Indian Telugu-language romantic tragedy film written and directed by K. Balachander. It stars Kamal Haasan and Saritha in the lead with Madhavi appearing in prominent roles. The film deals with cross-cultural romance between a Tamil boy and a Telugu girl. Upon release, it was commercially successful and remains a cult classic. Owing to its success in Andhra Pradesh, the film was released in the neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka without being dubbed into the respective languages. It held the record of being the longest-running Telugu film at theatres in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Across theatres it had an uninterrupted theatrical run of two and half years in Bangalore. The song Ye Theega Poovuno became popular.
Baladoor is a 2008 Indian Telugu-language action drama film directed by K. R. Udhayashankar and produced by D. Suresh Babu under Suresh Productions. The film stars Ravi Teja, Krishna, and Anushka Shetty while Chandra Mohan, Pradeep Rawat, Sunil and Brahmanandam play supporting roles. The film has music composed by K. M. Radha Krishnan with editing performed by Marthand K. Venkatesh. The film was released on 14 August 2008. The film was later dubbed in Hindi as Dhamkee in 2011 and remade into Oriya as Mu Kana Ete Khara.

Gollapudi Maruti Rao was an Indian actor, screenwriter, dramatist, playwright, columnist and dialogue writer known for his works in Telugu cinema, Telugu theatre and Telugu Literature. His noted literary works and plays, like Rendu Rellu Aaru, Patita, Karuninchani Devatalu, Mahanatudu, Kaalam Venakku Tirigindi, Aasayaalaku Sankellu, won numerous State Awards.
Kovelamudi Bapayya is an Indian film director. He has directed about 80 films in Telugu and Hindi languages. He is the cousin of noted director K. Raghavendra Rao and nephew of director and producer K. S. Prakash Rao.
Doondeswara Rao Pothina, more popularly known as Doondi, was an Indian film producer. He was described as one of the pioneer film personalities of the 1960s Telugu film industry. Doondi produced and directed about 29 films in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. In 2005, he also served as the Nandi Awards Committee Chairman.
G. Satyamurthy was an Indian screenwriter who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema. He worked as a story writer for over 90 films and as a dialogue writer for over 400 films. He is the father of film composer Devi Sri Prasad and singer Sagar.
