Salem, is a major city in Salem district, located on the banks of Thirumanimutharu river in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Salem is the sixth largest urban agglomeration and metropolitan city in the state by population next to Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli and Tiruppur and the sixth largest city in Tamil Nadu by area covering 124 km2 (48 sq mi).
Anna University is a public state university located in Tamil Nadu, India. The main campus is in Chennai. It was originally established on 4 September 1978 and was named after C. N. Annadurai, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Erode District is one of the 38 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It was the largest district by area in the state before the formation of Tirupur District in 2009. Erode District was a part of Coimbatore District before its division into two on 17 September 1979. It covers an area of 5,722 square kilometres (2,209 sq mi), and as of 2011, had a population of 2,251,744.

Gobichettipalayam is the Selection grade municipality in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of Gobichettipalayam taluk. It is situated at the center of the South Indian Peninsula, 37 kilometres (23 mi) from the district headquarters Erode ,44 kilometres (27 mi) north of Tiruppur and 80 kilometres (50 mi) east of Coimbatore. Agriculture and textile industries contribute majorly to the economy of the town and is popularly known as the rice bowl of western Tamil Nadu. The town is situated at 213 metres (699 ft) above sea level, surrounded by Western Ghats.

Dharapuram is a town situated along the banks of Amaravati River in Tiruppur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Dharapuram is one of the oldest towns in South India and was the capital of Kongu Nadu under the Cheras, Western Ganga Dynasty and later Kongu Cholas, at which time it was known as Viradapuram. Amaravathi River flows through the town. As of 2011, the town had a population of 67,007. The city houses famous temples including Agatheeswarar Temple, Kaadu Hanumanthasamy temple and many others.

Dr. Ahamed is medical doctor turned bureaucrat who joined the Indian Administrative Service in 2005. As of May 2021, he is currently serving as the Mission Director of National Health Mission Tamil Nadu. He was honoured by Prime Minister for Excellence in Public Administration for the year 2012–13.
Sinniampalayam Kumaraswamy Paramasivan was an Indian politician who served as a member of the Third Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, between 1962 and 1967. Paramasivan was known for his efforts toward setting up the Aavin milk co-operative in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu as a part of the Operation Flood initiative during India's White Revolution. For his contributions to the milk cooperative movement in the region he was called Paalvalatha Thanthai and received the Dr. Kurien award in 2010 from the National Dairy Development Board.
Dr. A. K. Viswanathan, IPS, is an Indian Police Service officer of the 1990 batch. He is presently in the rank of Director General of Police and serves as the Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation Limited, a wholly owned Company of the Government of Tamil Nadu. TNPHC is engaged in various projects related to police housing and infrastructure. He served as the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, from May 2017 to 1 July 2020.
Saminathan Dharmambal (1890–1959) was an Indian social activist and women's rights activist. She is remembered for her contributions to the Tamil language and involvement in the Anti-Hindi agitation of 1937–40. In 1951, she was given the title of vira Tamil annai.
Shilpa Prabhakar Satish I.A.S Collector and District Magistrate, is an officer of the Indian administrative service. She is the 215th collector and the first women collector of Tirunelveli district. She took charge of her office in May 2018, and is known for her bats for Anganwadi, a rural childcare centre in India and to set an example for the public she admitted her 3-year-old daughter to Anganwadi which was welcomed by the people all over India.
