The KTM 640 Adventure is a dual-sport motorcycle made by KTM from model years 1998 until 2007.
The bike featured a single cylinder engine, 21" front and 18" rear wheels and a large fuel tank as standard. It experienced a number of minor changes over its lifespan.
In 1997 KTM introduced the 620 Adventure with a 609 cc engine. The bike received a new 625 cc engine for the 1998 model year and was renamed the 640 Adventure-R.
For model year 2004 it experienced noticeable changes with a low front fender, twin front brake discs and the primary color changing from silver to orange.
Production ceased at the end of the 2007 model year after no further displacement changes.
KTM AG is an Austrian motorcycle, bicycle and sports car manufacturer owned by Pierer Mobility AG & Indian manufacturer Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV. It was formed in 1992 but traces its foundation to as early as 1934. Today, KTM AG is the parent company of the KTM Group, consisting of a number of motorcycle brands.
The BMW GS series of one purpose off-road/on-road BMW motorcycles have been produced from 1980, when the R80G/S was launched, to the present day. The GS refers to either Gelände/Straße or Gelände Sport. GS motorcycles can be distinguished from other BMW models by their longer travel suspension, an upright riding position, and larger front wheels – typically 19 to 21 inch. In May 2009, the 500,000th GS was produced, an R1200GS model.
Husaberg was a manufacturer of enduro motorcycles with four and two-stroke engines, the displacements ranging from 125 cc to 650 cc. Originally based in Sweden, its motorcycles were later manufactured in Austria by parent company KTM until the line was retired in 2014.
Penton was a rebadged American brand of off-road enduro motorcycles designed by John Penton and manufactured by KTM in Austria for distribution in the United States between 1968 and 1978.
The BMW R1150GS and R1150GS Adventure are motorcycles that were manufactured by BMW Motorrad from 1999 through 2004. There was a limited run of 2005-06 model year R1150GSA models as well. The R1150GS models are part of the BMW GS family of dual-sport or adventure motorcycles that have been produced from 1981 to the present date. The bikes have a 1,130 cc horizontally opposed flat-twin engine and shaft drive.
The Yamaha YZ125 is a motocross racing motorcycle with a two-stroke 124.9 cc (7.62 cu in) displacement single-cylinder engine made by Yamaha since 1974. It is available to the public. For the first two years it was made with dual rear shocks, then changing to a monoshock. The YZ125 has been ridden to five AMA National Motocross Championships, and multiple AMA Regional Supercross Championships.
Beta is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer, specialising in off-road motorcycles. Beta are best known for their popular observed trials bikes. In 2005, they launched a range of enduro motorcycles using KTM engines. In 2010 they launched the new RR series, with a new engine made in-house. Beta motorcycles have been used by world trials champions such as Jordi Tarrés, Dougie Lampkin, Albert Cabestany and Enduro riders Steve Holcombe and Brad Freeman. Production in 2018 was expected to be in excess of 20,000 motorcycles, ranging in size from 50 cc to 480 cc.
Husqvarna Motorcycles GmbH is a Swedish-origin Austrian company which designs, engineers, manufactures and distributes motocross, enduro, supermoto and street motorcycles.
The KTM 1190 RC8 was a supersport bike made by KTM. The first generation 2008 model had a 1,148 cc (70.1 cu in) V-twin engine and was the Austrian manufacturer's first-ever Superbike design. The RC8 model was supplemented with RC8 R models one year later in 2009 and the RC8 designation had its last year of production in 2010. Current models from 2009 through 2013 use a 1,195 cc (72.9 cu in) V-twin engine with a twin spark per cylinder technology design debuting on the 2011 model which is a rare supersport bike.
World Championship Motorsports (WCM) was a Grand Prix motorcycle racing team formed in 1992 by American Bob MacLean and British Peter Clifford. The team ran Yamaha motorcycles from 1997 to 2002 and was called Red Bull Yamaha WCM.
The BMW F650 is a family of motorcycles developed by BMW Motorrad beginning in 1993. Models included the F650St Strada and from 1994, the F650 which, due to some subtle differences, was considered to be a more dual/multi purpose motorcycle with some off-road capability. The 1993 - 2000 F650 was the first single-cylinder motorcycle from BMW since the 1960–1966 R27, and the first chain driven motorcycles from BMW.
The KTM 450 EXC is a 4-stroke enduro off-road motorcycle made by KTM. The models are the European road legal 400 EXC and 450 EXC, the US 450 XC and 450 XC-W. The European EXC versions have a small headlight, speedometer, tail-light and somewhat softer linkless (PDS) rear suspension. The US EXC is 50-states street legal.
The KTM 950 Adventure is a Dual-sport motorcycle produced in Austria by KTM. The bike is powered by a liquid cooled, four-stroke, DOHC 942 cc 75° V-twin engine, producing around 102 bhp (76 kW).
The KTM 390 Duke and RC 390 are 373.2 cc (22.77 cu in) displacement single-cylinder engine motorcycles assembled by Bajaj Auto, and KTM Asia Motorcycle Manufacturing, Inc. (KAMMI) for the Austrian manufacturer KTM. The bikes were developed under a joint program of Bajaj and KTM engineers, in which the concept was developed in Austria, while everything else, including design and final product development, was done in India by Bajaj. The 390 Duke standard debuted at the 2012 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, and went on sale in India and the Philippines in 2013 and in the US in 2015. The RC 390 sport bike was presented at EICMA the following year. After the Duke's initial release, KTM CEO Stefan Pierer announced plans to export the 390 Duke to the US for 2014. Bajaj said eventually the bike will be sold in 80 countries worldwide.
The KTM 690 Duke is the latest generation in KTM's line of midrange single-cylinder engine supermoto, or naked motorcycles that began with the 1994 609 cc (37.2 cu in) displacement Duke 620 or Duke I, followed by the 1998 625 cc (38.1 cu in) Duke 640 or Duke II, followed by the 654 cc (39.9 cu in) Duke III, and finally the 690 cc (42 cu in) Duke IV made since 2012. Both the Duke III and Duke IV are called the 690 Duke
The KTM 1290 Super Adventure is a 1301 cc V-twin adventure touring motorcycle from the Austrian manufacturer KTM. KTM's first production year for this motorcycle was 2015. It was selected as the Cycle World best adventure bike of 2015. The bike is marketed by KTM as a high performance adventure touring machine.
The KTM 300 is a series of 2-stroke enduro off-road motorcycles made by KTM. They are the Penton-inspired 1984 300 GS, the 300 DMX, the dirt only 300 MXC, European road legal 300 EXC and their current US counterpart the 300 XC (close-ratio) and 300 XC-W respectively. The KTM 300 is designed for difficult off-road conditions. The 300 EXC and the 300 XC-W have a small headlight, speedometer, tail-light and somewhat softer linkless PDS suspension. Starting in 2008 all 300's came with electric start. Since the early 2000s KTM has been offering the XC-W model in a special "Six-Days" limited edition.
The KTM 200 consists of a series of two-stroke off-road enduro motorcycles made by KTM, the European, road legal 200 EXC, and the 200 XC-W for the US market being the last versions. The 200 attempts to combine the agility of a 125 cc class motorcycle with the power of a 250 cc. As a small bore enduro bike it is equipped with a wide-ratio gear box. Starting in 2013 all 200's came with electric start.
The KTM 950 Super Enduro R is a dual-sport motorcycle produced from 2006 to 2008. It is equipped with a 98-horsepower, four-stroke, V-twin engine, adjustable heavy-duty offroad suspension, and enduro styling. Due to its light weight and offroad-capable profile, the 950SE was perceived at its launch as a radical departure from any existing dual-sport, enduro, or street bike models, while having characteristics of all three.
The KTM 125 FRR was a racing motorcycle made by KTM, which was used in the 125cc class of Grand Prix motorcycle racing from 2003 until 2011. The bike has been replaced by the KTM RC250GP from 2012 onwards.
