Kabbe was a constituency in the Zambezi Region of Namibia. Most of the area is situated in the flood area of the Zambezi River. It contained the former German colonial residence of Schuckmannsburg (today Luhonono), as well as several other villages. Its population in 2010 was 14,979. [1]
Following a recommendation of the Fourth Delimitation Commission of Namibia, and in preparation of the 2014 general election, the constituency was split into Kabbe South and Kabbe North. [2] [3]
Kabbe is traditionally a stronghold of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) party. In the 2004 regional election SWAPO candidate Peter Mwala Mwala received 3,095 of the 3,144 votes cast. [4] In the presidential election the same year, Kabbe voted overwhelmingly for Hifikepunye Pohamba of SWAPO. Pohamba won with 3764 (96%) votes, with Ben Ulenga of the Congress of Democrats receiving 82 (2%) of the constituency's votes. [5]
The Zambezi Region is one of the 14 regions of Namibia. It is located in the north-eastern part of the country. It is largely concurrent with the major Zambezi River after which it was named. The region has eight constituencies and its capital is the town of Katima Mulilo. The self-governed village of Bukalo is also situated in this region. The Zambezi Region had a population of 90,596 in 2011. As of 2020, it had 47,884 registered voters. At the time of the 2023 census, 142,373 people lived in the region.
Kavango was one of the thirteen regions of Namibia until it was split into the Kavango East and Kavango West Regions in 2013. Its capital was Rundu.
Oshikoto is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, named after Lake Otjikoto. Its capital is Omuthiya. Further major settlements in the region are Tsumeb, Otjikoto's capital until 2008, and Oniipa. As of 2020, Oshikoto had 112,170 registered voters.
Linyanti is an electoral constituency in the Zambezi Region of Namibia. As of 2020, the constituency had 4,493 registered voters. The area includes a large marshland. In August 2013, Linyanti Constituency lost its western part, which became a constituency of its own, namely Judea Lyaboloma Constituency.
Katima Mulilo UrbanConstituency is an electoral district in Namibia. It is situated in the Zambezi Region. The region's capital, Katima Mulilo, is in this constituency. The constituency has a population of 28,362 people. In the 2020 Regional Council Elections, there were 13,860 registered voters.
Katima Mulilo Rural is a constituency in the Zambezi Region of Namibia. It comprises the area south of the town of Katima Mulilo, the regional capital. As of 2020, the constituency had 6,712 registered voters.
General elections were held in Namibia on 27–28 November 2009. They were the fourth general elections since independence and the fifth democratic elections. Voting ended on 28 November and official election results, released on 4 December, showed that Hifikepunye Pohamba and his SWAPO Party were re-elected, each with over 75% of the vote. Prior to the election, the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) was widely expected to score a landslide victory, with the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) considered SWAPO's biggest challenger. Fourteen political parties competed for seats in the National Assembly of Namibia, and twelve candidates ran for the presidency.
Sesfontein Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Kunene Region of Namibia. Its district capital is the settlement of Sesfontein. The constituency had a population of 7,358 in 2004. As of 2020, it has 5,614 registered voters.
Mpungu is a constituency in the Kavango West region of Namibia. It had a population of 20,787 in 2011, up from 18,660 in 2001, and 9,121 registered voters in 2020, up from 8,924 in 2004.
Ondobe is a constituency in the Ohangwena Region of Namibia. It had 32,726 inhabitants in 2004 and 16,286 registered voters in 2020.

Rundu Urban is an electoral constituency in the Kavango East region of Namibia. It covers the urban area of Rundu, the region's capital and one of Namibia's largest cities. The constituency also covers parts of the Sauyemwa, Safari, Tutungeni, Katutura, Donkerhoek and Kehemu neighborhoods. It had a population of 20,953 in 2011, up from 19,173 in 2001. As of 2020 the constituency had 35,740 registered voters.
Rundu Rural is an electoral constituency in the Kavango East Region of Namibia. It comprises the area east of Rundu, one of Namibia's largest cities. It had a population of 22,538 in 2011, up from 18,250 in 2001. As of 2020 the constituency had 6,060 registered voters.
Judea Lyaboloma Constituency is an electoral district in Namibia. It is situated in the Zambezi Region. Its centre is Sangwali which is a settlement 129.3 kilometres out of Katima Mulilo. The constituency has a population of 5,511 people. In the 2020 Regional Council Elections, there were 3,339 registered voters.
Kabbe South is the easternmost of the eight electoral constituencies of Zambezi Region of Namibia. The administrative centre of Kabbe South is the settlement of Nakabolelwa. As of 2020, the constituency had 3,751 registered voters.
Ncuncuni is a constituency in the Kavango West region of Namibia. It is located west of Rundu, one of Namibia's largest cities. It had a population of 38,281 in 2011, up from 26,623 in 2001. As of 2020 the constituency had 4,554 registered voters.
