Television in the Netherlands was officially introduced in 1951. In the Netherlands, the television market is divided between a number of commercial networks, such as RTL Nederland, and a system of public broadcasters sharing three channels, NPO 1, NPO 2, and NPO 3. Imported programmes, as well as news interviews with responses in a foreign language, are almost always shown in their original language, with subtitles.

Sky Deutschland GmbH, branded as Sky, is a German media company that operates a direct broadcast satellite Pay TV platform in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It provides a collection of basic and premium digital subscription television channels of different categories via satellite and cable television.
Tele2Vision was a Swedish cable television distributor owned by Tele2 that was started in 1986.
AKTA TV was a Romanian DTH platform. It belonged to Digital Cable Systems, a telecommunication operator which offered satellite, cable television, internet and telephony in over 2,500 locations in Romania.

EVOtv is a Croatian Pay TV provider founded and previously owned by Croatian Post, in 2018 purchased by T-HT. EVOtv offers Pay TV Digital Terrestrial Television based on DVB-T2 Technology. The service was introduced in December 2012 and currently carries 56 TV channels.
