The Kabete National Polytechnic [1] [2] is a national university offering technical training in Kenya. [3] The Kabete technical is located on Waiyaki Way near Uthiru market in Nairobi County. [4] Kabete national polytechnic is known country wide for its best training and performance and considered one of the best technical institution in Kenya This institution was started in 1924 and underwent various revolutionary stages until in 2016 where it was upgraded to a national polytechnic [5] The institute is also accredited by TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training). [6]

History

Kabete technical was started in 1924 as a technical school and was later change to a training camp for soldiers during the second world war. The school later changed to a primary school then to a secondary school. In 1972 the school started offering technical education for three year courses in Nairobi.

Kagumo High School is a boys' national high school situated between Kirichu and Kiganjo townships along the Nyeri-Nanyuki road in Kenya. Established in 1933 as a primary institution in Gatitu, its initial aim was to train artisans for Native African training depots. In 1958, the school relocated to its current location in Kiganjo, thanks to land provided by Chief Wambugu wa Muigua. Over the years, Kagumo High School has gained recognition for its academic achievements. In 1946, it was among the first schools in the country to permit Africans to sit for University Level Entrance Exams. Designated a national school in 2012, it now hosts a student population exceeding 1,200, distributed across 11 streams. Notable alumni from Kagumo High School have excelled in various fields, including politics, law, business, and medicine.

Ferdinard Ndungu Waititu, also known as Baba Yao, is a Kenyan politician who served as the second governor of Kiambu County from 2016 to January 2020. He was impeached on corruption charges. His troubles started after it was learnt he was involved in a scheme of grabbing land from a widow worth over one million dollars amongst other fraudulent activities. He is currently awaiting trial for the mismanagement of county fund of over five million dollars. He also served as an assistant minister for Water Services and Irrigation in the government of Kenya.
