Coordinates: 11°58′22″N79°12′40″E / 11.97273°N 79.211082°E / 11.97273; 79.211082 Kabilar Kundru or Kabilar rock is a hill rock in the middle of the Ponnaiyar River near Tirukoilur in Viluppuram district, Tamil Nadu, India. [1] [2] It is known for Tamil poet Kapilar did Vadakirrutal (fast unto death) here, after his friend Vēl Pāri killed in a battle. [3] It is one of the protected monuments in Tamil Nadu by the Archaeological Survey of India. [4]

Kalugumalai Jain beds in Kalugumalai, a panchayat town in Thoothukudi district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, are dedicated to the Jain and Hindu religious figures. Constructed in rock cut architecture, the unfinished temple is believed to have been built during the reign of Pandyan king Parantaka Nedunjadaiya. The rock-cut architecture at Kalugumalai is an exemplary specimen of Pandyan art.
