The Kaduwela Bridge is a beam bridge crossing the Kelani River between Kaduwela in the Colombo District, and Bandarawatta in the Gampaha District, of Sri Lanka. The bridge was constructed in 1982. [1]
Battaramulla is an Urban Area under the administration of Kaduwela and is situated 8.4 km (5 mi) from the Colombo Fort, near the Parliament of Sri Lanka. It is one of the fastest developing administrative, commercial and residential areas in the Colombo District, being home to the country's elite. Battaramulla is an important town in Sri Lanka, because of the Sri Lankan government's decision to locate all the government department head offices in this town.

The Ceylon Electricity Board - CEB, was the largest electricity company in Sri Lanka. With a market share of nearly 100%, it controlled all major functions of electricity generation, transmission, distribution and retailing in Sri Lanka. It was one of the only two on-grid electricity companies in the country; the other being Lanka Electricity Company (LECO). The company earned approximately Rs 204.7 billion in 2014, with a total of nearly 5.42 million consumer accounts. It was a government-owned and controlled utility of Sri Lanka that took care of the general energy facilities of the island. The Ministry of Power and Energy was the responsible ministry above the CEB. Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), established by the CEB Act No. 17 of 1969, was under the legal obligation to develop and maintain an efficient, coordinated and economical system of electricity supply in accordance with any licenses issued. The CEB was dissolved and replaced by 12 successor entities under the 2024 Electricity Act.
The Colombo Outer Circular Expressway is a highway in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was opened in sections. The 29 km (18 mi) long outer circular road network links the Colombo - Matara Expressway with Colombo - Katunayake Expressway and the proposed Colombo - Kandy Expressway and will provide an orbital beltway to bypass the city of Colombo and reduce traffic congestion. The project is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The expressway is named "Arthur C. Clarke Expressway" in honor of Arthur C. Clarke, a famous science fiction writer and futurist who lived in Sri Lanka from 1956 to his death in 2008.

Beginning on 14 May 2016, a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal caused torrential rain to fall across Sri Lanka, causing floods and landslides which affected half a million people. As of 25 May 2016 the death toll was 101 with 100 missing.
2018 Sri Lanka floods and landslides caused from an annual heavy southwest monsoon beginning around 19 May. As of 26 May 2018; the monsoon floods affected in about 19 districts, killed at least 21 people, about 150, 000 people were affected and further left approximately 23 people missing. The death casualties were reported from 22 May onwards in the provinces including South, Northwest, North and East. About 4 people were reported dead due to lightning, 5 people were killed due to floods and lightning, 8 people died due to drowning and further left 4 people dead resulting from fallen trees. The DMC report claimed about 400, 000 people have been displaced to safer locations. About 105 houses were reported to have fully damaged and over 4832 houses have been partially damaged.
The Biyagama Water Treatment Plant or BWTP is a water treatment facility located at the bank of Kelani River, in Biyagama, Sri Lanka. At a daily output capacity of 160,000,000 L/d (1,900,000 L/ks), it is the second largest water treatment facility in the country. The plant provides drinking water to approximately one million people, in Wattala, Ja-Ela, Kelaniya, Biyagama, Ragama, Kandana, Kadawatha, Kiribathgoda, Seeduwa and Ganemulla, within the Gampaha District.

It is 13.4% of the area of Colombo District. By the end of the year 2016, the total population of the area was reported as 260,341.
The Pattivila Bridge is an old footbridge crossing the Kelani River between Welivita in the Colombo District, and Pattivila in the Gampaha District, of Sri Lanka. The bridge is located between the Kaduwela Bridge upstream, and Kelanimulla Bridge downstream, both of which are traversable by all traffic. While access to the bridge entrance is accessible via motor vehicles, the bridge itself is only traversable by pedestrians and cyclists. Due to a lack of a bicycle stairway, cyclists are required to carry their bikes up 40 steps on both ends of the bridge.
