Kadyrbek Atambaev (born April,26;1993; Bishkek) is the leader of deputy fraction of Social Democrats in Bishkek parliament, [1] vice-chairman of Social Democrats (Kyrgyzstan), son of former Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev. Leader of the party list of the 2021 parliamentary elections. [2]
Graduated from secondary school-gymnasium No. 29 in Bishkek. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management from the American University of Central Asia, and completed a master's degree at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), specializing in Public-Private Partnerships. [3] He wrote a book on industrial policy and economic complexity importance for developing countries in 2015. [4] He completed regular military service in the army of Kyrgyzstan in 2017. [5]
Has received an invitation from Angela Merkel to pass internship in a German think tank, [6] but could not realize it after the storm of his house by military forces and arrest of his father. [3]
Kadyrbek Atambayev, as a member of the non-governmental organization Citizens' Internet Policy Initiative, worked with the team of the Tunduk interdepartmental electronic interaction system. Kyrgyzstan has become the third X-Road operator in the world after Estonia and Finland. [7] With his direct participation, the X-Road system was upgraded from version 5 to version 6. Atambayev personally interacted with dozens of government agencies, documenting their algorithms for administrative procedures for automation. [3] In 2019, the state-owned enterprise Tunduk received the title “Partner of the Year” from the E-Governance Academy (EGA).
Kadyrbek Atambayev has become actively involved in politics through the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK) after the arrest of his father. He joined the party 10 days after the storming of his father's residence by regular armed forces of 6,000 people on August 7-8 during the Koy-Tash events. [8]
Called on opposition forces to unite after the assault and arrest of his father:
"...this does not mean that we should wait for each of us to come and be tied up. This means that today all opposition forces must understand that the future of the state is at stake. We must show strong resistance to the dictatorship of power. If a coalition of parties wins the next elections - a coalition of opposition against the advancing dictatorship, then we will be able to turn the tide." [9]
Despite the arrest of the SDPK party headquarters and the party television channel (April TV), he opened a new party office [10] and called his party members to unite. [11]
In 2019, together with his fellow party members, after unfair election results, he announced the protest action and went to Ala-Too Square, which resulted in the Kyrgyz revolution of 2020. [12] Kadyrbek Atambayev released an investigation into the connection of the president’s relatives from the Jeenbekov clan with customs corruption at the South-Western Customs Point through the Southern Technical Inspection. [13] He found out that the case against party members is being conducted by the nephew of President Jeenbekov. [13] [14] Kadyrbek Atambaev was one of the first of the protesters to enter the White House during protests, that resulted in overthrow of president Sooronbay Jeenbekov. [15] He spoke about the torture of his father, ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, at the congress of the Socialist International in Madrid in 2022. [16] Socialist International Secretary General Luis Ayala visited Kyrgyzstan, where he helped obtain permission to conduct a medical examination. [17]
He headed the party list in the elections to the Bishkek Parliament and headed the faction in Bishkek. [18]
Topped the party list in the 2021 parliamentary elections, which ended in vote fraud [19] and “electronic system failure”. [2] He asked a question about the beating of opposition leaders despite a peaceful protest and the authorities bringing in groups to carry out violence against the injured leaders. [20]
Kadyrbek Atambayev has been involved in various campaigns and movements. He has shown particular interest in preserving Bishkek's trolleybus system, [21] arguing against its replacement with more expensive electric buses.
He often speaks in the media on the topics of the corruption, [22] construction mafia, [23] the ecology of Bishkek, water problems, [24] and budgetary independence. [25] Acts as the international secretary of the party's youth wing in the IUSY.
He raised the issue of corruption in Bishkek cemeteries, and subsequently received threats and a lawsuit for libel from the director of the cemetery. [22] Despite the audit of the mayor's office, which confirmed corruption at the cemetery, he was fined by the court. [26] Deputies from the S&D group in European Parliament spoke out in defense of Kadyrbek Atambayev, calling this event unfair. [27]
As an author actively publishes in a number of scientific and analytical publications. His first book and series of articles on German historicism and industrialization were published on the CAA-Network platform. [28] In addition, several works about the X-Road system, city urbanism and book reviews were published on the AKIpress. [29] He published a research paper "Public Entrepreneurship: Innovation Policy and Public-Private Partnership Mechanisms" in the PPP journal at MGIMO. [30]
The president of Kyrgyzstan, officially the president of the Kyrgyz Republic, is the head of state and head of government of the Kyrgyz Republic. Roza Isakovna Otunbayeva is a Kyrgyz diplomat and politician who served as the President of Kyrgyzstan from 7 April 2010 until 1 December 2011, becoming the first female Central Asian head of state. She was sworn in on July 3, 2010, after acting as interim leader following the 2010 April Revolution, which led to the ousting of President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. She previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and as head of the parliamentary caucus for the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan. She is also known for the persecution of human rights activist Azimzhan Askarov and the failed policy that led to the clashes of June 2010.
Omurbek Chirkeshovich Tekebayev is a Kyrgyz politician. He was Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament from March 2005 to March 2006. Tekebaev is the leader of the Ata-Meken socialist party. Currently, he serves as the ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Germany.
The Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK) was a political party in Kyrgyzstan. Members formed the party on 1 October 1993, but did not register with the Justice Ministry until 16 December 1994. Abdygany Erkebaev served as the party's first chairman. Almazbek Atambayev replaced him on 30 July 1999. The majority of the party's membership is drawn from the country's entrepreneurs. Currently party is known as Social Democrats (Kyrgyzstan) and its active party chairman is Temirlan Sultanbekov.
Edil Baisalov is a Kyrgyz politician, who currently serves as the Deputy prime minister in government of Kyrgyz Republic. He participated in the Tulip Revolution of 2005 and following the 2010 Kyrgyzstani uprising on April 7, 2010, briefly served as Chief of Staff of the interim government led by Roza Otunbayeva. Known in Kyrgyzstan as the "Great Justifier" and the main advocate of Kyrgyz authorities.
Almazbek Sharshen uulu Atambayev is a Kyrgyz politician who served as the President of Kyrgyzstan from 1 December 2011 to 24 November 2017. He was Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from 17 December 2010 to 1 December 2011, and from 29 March 2007 to 28 November 2007. He served as Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK) from 30 July 1999 to 23 September 2011.
Kamchybek Kydyrshaevich Tashiev is a Kyrgyzstani politician who was head of the political party Ata-Zhurt until its merger with the Respublika party in 2014. He is currently Chairman of the State Committee for National Security.

Sooronbay Sharip uulu Jeenbekov is a Kyrgyz politician who served as the 5th President of Kyrgyzstan from 2017 until his resignation in 2020, following a week of protests. Prior to that he served as the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from April 2016 to August 2017.
Presidential elections were held in Kyrgyzstan on 15 October 2017. Incumbent President Almazbek Atambayev was not allowed to run again because the constitution sets a single six-year term for the head of state. Eleven candidates registered for the race, and from this field Sooronbay Jeenbekov of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan won more than 50% of the vote, avoiding a runoff. Following certification of the results on 30 October, Jeenbekov was inaugurated as President of Kyrgyzstan on 24 November.

Sadyr Nurgojo uulu Japarov is a Kyrgyz politician who has been serving as the president of Kyrgyzstan since 28 January 2021. He previously held the post of acting prime minister of Kyrgyzstan in the 2020 interim government, following the resignation of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov. Japarov also became acting president of Kyrgyzstan after Jeenbekov's resignation, but resigned himself on 14 November 2020 to run for the 2021 presidential election, in which he was elected to succeed the acting president, Talant Mamytov.

The Social Democrats is a political party in Kyrgyzstan founded in late 2019 by supporters of former President Almazbek Atambayev – legal successor from the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDKP). After a conflict between Atambaev and his successor President Sooronbai Jeenbekov emerged and deepened in 2018, Atambayev accused of Jeenbekov in attempting to seize authority over the SDKP, a party that Atambayev himself formed in 1990s and served as a leader of. The SDK participated in the annulled 2020 parliamentary election. The current party leader is Temirlan Sultanbekov.

The Koy-Tash events is a term referred to a series of political events that took place in August 2019 in the village of Koi-Tash, Kyrgyzstan. These events were associated with an attempt to detain the former President of the country, Almazbek Atambayev, which led to clashes between his supporters and security forces. This was a key moment in the modern history of Kyrgyzstan, which revealed the depth of political tension in the country and sparked numerous discussions about the legitimacy of the authorities' actions and human rights and led to the overthrow of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov in October 2020.
