Wan Mohammad Khair Wan Azami Hamzah (born 30 August 1985), popularly known as Kaer Azami, is a Malaysian singer-turned- designer. He was born and raised in Petaling Jaya. He represented Malaysia in various international art competitions during his elementary and high school. He won first prize in most of the competition. He was sent to Sri Bestari and Inai Beacon House International for his early education. He is the son of a famous architect Wan Azami bin Hamzah. His mother Kharidah Kadir is the daughter of the late Dato' Abdul Kadir from Sri Menanti who used to be the Speaker of Negeri Sembilan. [1] Kaer Azami rose to prominence by coming sixth in the second season of a popular television talent show. Akademi Fantasia Kaer won Best Song at Anugerah Industri Muzik Malaysia 2008 with his song entitled Izinku Pergi composed by Azlan Abu Hassan, Lyric by Sulu Sarawak. He was also nominated for best new singer, best pop album and best male vocal. Later in 2009, Kaer went to Jakarta to pursue his Degree in Retail Business (Lasalle Int college).

Biography

Early commercial success (2002–2004)

Kaer Azami was one of the contestants of Akademi Fantasia Season 2 in 2004. He made it all the way to the final and he was placed sixth. Apart from this, he was the main cast for the 2002 Coca-Cola World Cup advertisement and hosted "Pelita Bahasa" on Astro Channel 15. He also worked on an advertisement for Maxis Hotlink and hosted Anugerah ERA internet TV in 2004.

First debut and second studio album

In February 2007, his debut album, Menjelma was released under his own label "Sphinx Flame". In March 2008 he launched another album entitled Unique

A New Chapter (2012)

In February 2012 he launched his third album entitled A New Chapter. However, the market summarised that the album was too urban and not radio friendly. He worked with award-winning Malaysian and Indonesian producers such as Azlan A.Hassan, Yovie Widianto, Bemby Noor, Tg Shafick, Audi Mok.

Other Ventures

Kaer started fashion labels, Quhji and Kazami in 2009. [4] He owns a clothing factory in Indonesia to cater for his fashion lines. [5]

Menjelma is the first studio album from Malaysian pop singer-songwriter Kaer Azami which was released in February 2007 in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. The album features 11 tracks altogether including one bonus track, which Kaer first recorded it in a compilation album of Akademi Fantasia season 2. The first single from this album is "Izinku Pergi".

The fourth season of Akademi Fantasia premiered on the Astro Ria television channel on 3 June 2006. The season introduced Adlin Aman Ramlie as a replacement for Kudsia Kahar, while Aznil Nawawi returned as host once again. On 5 August 2006, a native of Marang, Terengganu, Mohammad Faizal Ramly won the season, defeating runner-up Lotter P. Edwin Edin. Faizal remained the last male winner until the seventh season.

The second season of Akademi Fantasia premiered on 7 June 2004 and concluded on 14 August 2004 on the Astro Ria television channel. Aznil Nawawi continued as the show's host, while Kudsia Kahar returned as judges. The second season was won by Ahmad Zahid Baharuddin, who defeated Norlinda Nanuwil. This season also featured Kaer Azami, who would subsequently win the 2008 Malaysian Music Awards for Best Song.

The third season of Akademi Fantasia premiered on the Astro Ria television channel on 4 June 2005. Kudsia Kahar continued to judge the show's contestants, along with Aznil Nawawi as host. Asmawi Ani, a native of FELDA Taib Andak, Kulai, Johor, was announced the winner of the competition on 7 August 2005, defeating runner-up Felix Agus.

Siti Adira binti Suhaimi is a Malaysian singer. She is the runner-up of the eighth season of Astro's television reality program, Akademi Fantasia. She also known as Queen of Soundtrack.

Hetty Sarlene Abdul Hamid is a Singaporean singer and actress. After performing at two international competitions in 1999, she was signed to New Southern Records. After releasing two albums with them and winning Best Artiste at the 2002 Anugerah Planet Muzik, she focused on acting. She has since appeared in several Malaysian films dan television series.
