The Kalakar Award for Best Actress is an award, presented annually at the Kalakar Awards. It is given by the Kalakar Parivar Foundation for Bengali films. The award was first given in 1993. [1] [2]

Produced by Shrikant Mohta under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films, it stars Mithun Chakraborty and Jeet, two biggest superstars of Bengal for the first time together, along with Debashree Roy, Koel Mallick and Rajatava Dutta in lead roles, while Bharat Kaul, Kaushik Banerjee, Sumit Ganguly, Sanjib Dasgupta and N. The story revolves around a police officer who is falsely accused of murdering his wife and imprisoned as he has been investigating a rape case that involves the younger brother of a powerful MLA. <i>Prohor</i> 2002 Indian film

Prohor is a 2002 Bengali feature film directed by Subhadro Chowdhury. The film is based on Dulendra Bhowmick's short story Dash Number Bed. The cinematographer of the film was Amlan Dutta. It revolves around a nurse who, in one night, discovers that there is a patient in her hospital, who once raped her brutally. It stars Debashree Roy as the central character. The film was edited by Saurav Sharangi and the background score was composed by Chiradeep Dasgupta.

Parineeta is a 2019 Indian Bengali vigilante romantic thriller film directed and produced by Raj Chakraborty under the banner Raj Chakraborty Productions. The film illustrates love break up, revenge urban love story and false allegations against men – with Subhashree Ganguly, Ritwick Chakraborty, Gaurav Chakrabarty and Falaque Rashid Roy. Adrit Roy played a pivotal role in the film.

<i>Shraddhanjali</i> 1993 Bengali drama film

Shraddhanjali is a 1993 Bengali drama film directed by Sreekanta Guha Thakurta and produced by Bandana Das. The story, screenplay and lyrics are penned by Anjan Choudhury. The plot revolves around the three central characters — Amit, Sathi and Bobby. Amit discovers his student Bobby's love for him whereas he is in love with Sathi. Sathi, on the other hand, chooses to stay away from Amit's life as he has the scope to prosper in his life if he marries Bobby. Bobby is as magnanimous as Sathi. She plays her part to reunite Amit and Sathi. The film stars Prosenjit Chatterjee as Amit, Satabdi Roy as Sathi and Debashree Roy as Bobby. It also stars Ranjit Mullick, Kali Banerjee, Ruma Guha Thakurta, Anup Kumar and Aloka Ganguly. The music of the film is composed by R. D. Burman.
