Subhashree Ganguly is an Indian actress who primarily works in Bengali cinema. She is the winner of Anandalok Nayikar Khonje 2006 [3] [4] [5] and one of the highest paid actress of Bengali cinema. [6] [5] [7]
Ganguly made her acting debut in 2008 with the Odia comedy drama film Mate Ta Love Helare and subsequently made her debut in Bengali films with Pitribhumi, in which she played a supporting role. [8] She got her first lead role in a Bengali film with Bajimaat . After this she had worked in numerous commercially successful Bengali films like Challenge , Paran Jai Jaliya Re (2009), Romeo , Khokababu (2012), Khoka 420 (2013), Boss , Game , Ami Shudhu Cheyechi Tomay (2014), Abhimaan (2016), Boss 2: Back to Rule (2017), Nabab (2017), Chalbaaz (2018) and critically successful films like Parineeta (2019), Dharmajuddha , Bismillah and Boudi Canteen (2022).
Subhashree Ganguly was born at Bardhaman, West Bengal, India to Bina and Debaprasd Ganguly. [9] Her mother Bina Ganguly is a house wife and her father Debaprashad Ganguly was a school clerk. [10] She studied at Burdawan Municipal Girl's.
In 2006 she joined the television reality show Anandalok Nayikar Khonje and became the winner. [3] [4] after that she started her career as a model then she made her debut in film industry by an Oriya-film Mate Ta Love Helare in 2008, which was directed by Ashok Pati subsequently she made her debut in Bengali films with Pitribhumi, in which she played a supporting role. In the year 2016 when Ganguly was filming Abhimaan, she had a relationship with the director of the film Raj Chakraborty. On 6 March 2018 they got engaged at Kolkata and were married on 11 May, at Bawali Rajbari. [11] On 12 September 2020 she gave birth to a baby boy. [12] On November 30 2023 they had a baby girl. [13]

She rose to prominence after working with Bengali film actor Dev in films such as Challenge , Khokababu , Khoka 420 , Romeo , Paran Jai Jaliya Re and the unreleased Dhumketu . Khoka 420 and Paran Jai Jaliya Re are ranked among the highest grossing Bengali movies.[ citation needed ]
Her pairing with another Bengali actor Jeet has been equally successful with films like Boss , Game , Abhimaan and Boss 2: Back to Rule . Boss 2: Back to Rule has been ranked among the biggest hits in the history of Bengali cinema.[ citation needed ]
She paired up with Shakib Khan in the films Nabab and Chalbaaz .
In 2019, film Parineeta marked a significant change in her career. Her portrayal of mehul brought her appreciation from critics and she won multiple awards for best actress, including Best Actor In A Leading Role (Female) in Filmfare Awards Bangla. [14] [15]
In 2022, her performance in Boudi Canteen earned her the Filmfare award for Best Actor (Female) Critics. [16] [17]

The film was co-produced by Action Cut Entertainment. The film features Bengali actors Ankush Hazra, Subhashree Ganguly and Vikram Chatterjee in the lead roles. Jeet is an Indian Bengali actor, producer and television presenter. Jeet started his modeling career in 1993. His first acting assignment was Bishabriksha (1994–95), a Bengali TV series directed by Bishnu Palchaudhuri. He made his big screen debut with Chandu (2001), a Telugu film. His first success came in 2002, opposite Priyanka Trivedi, through Sathi, a highly successful romantic drama, directed by Haranath Chakraborty, for which he won the Bengal Film Journalists' Association – Most Promising Actor Award and Anandalok Awards for Best Actor. The film illustrates love break up, revenge urban love story and false allegations against men – with Subhashree Ganguly, Ritwick Chakraborty, Gaurav Chakrabarty and Falaque Rashid Roy. Adrit Roy plays a pivotal role in the film.
The 4th Filmfare Awards Bangla ceremony, presented by The Times Group, honoured the best Bengali language Indian films of 2019. The ceremony was held on 31 March 2021 in Kolkata.
