Debashree Roy also known as Debasree Roy, is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, politician and animal rights activist. As an actress, she is known for her work in Hindi and Bengali cinema. She has been cited as the reigning queen of Bengali commercial cinema. She acted in more than a hundred films and won over forty awards, including a National Award, three BFJA Awards, five Kalakar Awards and an Anandalok Award. As a dancer, she is known for her stage adaptations of the various forms of Indian folk dances as well as her innovative dance forms imbued with elements from Indian classical, tribal and folk dance. She runs Natraj dance troupe. She is the founder of Debasree Roy Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works for the cause of stray animals. Roy was a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Raidighi constituency since 2011 till 2021.
Jeetendra Madnani, mononymously known as Jeet, is an Indian actor, film producer, singer, entrepreneur and television presenter known for his work in Bengali cinema. He owns the production houses "Grassroot Entertainment" and "Jeetz Filmworks". Ghosts are an important and integral part of the folklore of the socio-cultural fabric of the geographical and ethno-linguistic region of Bengal which presently consists of Bangladesh and the Indian states of West Bengal and Tripura. References to ghosts are often found in modern-day Bengali literature, cinema, radio and television media. There are also alleged haunted sites in the region. The common word for ghosts in Bengali is bhoot or bhut. This word has an alternative meaning: 'past' in Bengali. Also, the word Pret is used in Bengali to mean ghost. In Bengal, ghosts are believed to be the unsatisfied spirits of human beings who cannot find peace after death or the souls of people who died in unnatural or abnormal circumstances like murders, suicides or accidents. Non-human animals can also turn into ghosts after their death. But they are often associated with good luck and wealth in Bangladesh.

MLA Fatakeshto is a 2006 Indian Bengali language political action film directed by Swapan Saha and produced by Shree Venkatesh Films. Dui Prithibi is a 2010 Bengali road drama movie directed by Raj Chakraborty and stars Jeet, Dev, Koel Mallick and Barkha Bisht Sengupta in the lead roles. It was the highest grossing Bengali film of 2010. A remake of the Telugu film Gamyam, Dui Prithibi brought two of the biggest stars of Bengali cinema, Jeet and Dev, together for the only time on the celluloid.
Hemlock Society is an Indian Bengali romantic dark comedy released on 22 June 2012, directed by Srijit Mukherji, who is also the director of Autograph and Baishe Srabon. The film's cast consists of Parambrata Chatterjee, Koel Mallick, and Soumitra Chatterjee. The name is inspired by the erstwhile Hemlock Society, a society which was based in Santa Monica, US. The primary missions of this society included providing information to dying persons and supporting legislation permitting physician-assisted suicide. The movie was remade in Marathi in 2015 as Welcome Zindagi. A box-office success.
Soham Chakraborty is an Indian actor, producer, television personality and politician. He has appeared in more than 100 Bengali films, as child artist and as male lead. He earned numerous accolades, including Uttam Kumar Awards, BFJA Awards and Star Jalsha Entertainment Awards. Chakraborty has a significant following in West Bengal, Assam and other adjacent states in India and Bangladesh. He is a member of All India Trinamool Congress. He contested 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election from Borjora Constituency. He won the General election 2021 from Chandipur constituency by a margin of 14000 votes. He was sworn in as Member of Legislative Assembly on 2 May 2021.
Bodhuboron is a Bengali language television serial which began airing on Star Jalsha from 19 August 2013. The series starred Gourab Chatterjee and Pramita Chakraborty in lead roles. It was the remake of the Hindi popular show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. This Show did it's 2nd time repeat telecast on Star Jalsha from 10 june 2024.
Kiranmala is an Indian Bengali language television series which aired on Star Jalsha from 4 August 2014 to 19 November 2016. It was produced by Surinder Films and starred Rooqma Ray, Farhan Imroze and Chandrayee Ghosh. It was based on traditional folktales as collected in Thakurmar Jhuli by Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumder. The series was dubbed into Tamil and aired on Star Vijay. An Odisha dubbed version was aired on Tarang TV. It returned in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The series re-aired a third time on Jalsha Movies on 13 May 2024.

Bishorjan (transl. Immersion) is a 2017 Indian Bengali-language film written and directed by Kaushik Ganguly, produced by Opera Productions. It stars Abir Chatterjee, and Jaya Ahsan. The story revolves around a love story between a Bangladeshi Hindu widow and Indian Muslim businessman, who one day washes up on the Bangladesh side of the Ichamati river.
Chalbaaz (transl. Trickster) is a 2018 Indian Bengali romantic comedy film directed by Joydip Mukherjee. The film stars Bangladeshi Superstar Shakib Khan and Subhashree Ganguly in the lead roles. The cast also includes Rajatabha Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Syed Hasan Imam, Atul Sharma and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film is produced by OT Ltd Productions The film is a remake of 2015 Telugu movie Subramanyam for Sale. The film was released in India on 20 April 2018. And Released in Bangladesh on 27 April 2018. The film received generally positive reviews from critics. It topped the box office in its opening week.
Phagun Bou is an Indian Bengali television soap opera that premiered on 19 March 2018 on Star Jalsha. It was produced under Magic Moments Motion Pictures of Saibal Banerjee and Leena Gangopadhyay. The show starred Vikram Chatterjee and Oindrila Sen in lead roles and Koushik Roy in a negative role.
Bagha Jatin is a 2023 Indian Bengali language bio-historical action drama film co-written and directed by Arun Roy. The film is produced by Dev and Gurupada Adhikari under Dev Entertainment Ventures. The film stars Dev as the title character with Sreeja Dutta, Sudipta Chakraborty, Shoaib Kabeer, Rohaan Bhattacharjee, Carl A. Harte and Alexandra Taylor in pivotal roles. The film is based on the life of Bagha Jatin, a freedom fighter who fought for Indian independence along with fellow members of the Jugantar. The film features a total of 92 freedom fighters.
