Srabanti Chatterjee (born 13 August [1] ) is an Indian actress in the Bengali film industry (Tollywood). She is known for her versatile acting skills and has been a popular face in Bengali cinema for over two decades. Srabanti began her acting career as a child artist in 1997 with the film Mayar Badhon, directed by Swapan Saha. [5] She rose to fame in 2003 after playing the lead role in Champion. Throughout her career, Srabanti has delivered several notable performances in films such as Amanush (2010), Bolo Na Tumi Amar (2010), Shikari (2016) and Bhootchakra Pvt. Ltd. (2019). She is widely acclaimed for her roles in romantic and family drama films, earning her a loyal fan base across West Bengal, Bangladesh and beyond.
Srabanti's personal life has often been in the spotlight due to her multiple marriages and personal choices. She has a son named Abhimanyu Chatterjee.
Chatterjee joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 1 March 2021. [6] [7] She was given the ticket and contested the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election from Behala Paschim against state minister of School Education and TMC heavyweight Partha Chatterjee but lost the election by 50,884 votes. Less than a year after joining, Srabanti left the Bharatiya Janata Party on 11 November 2021.
Chatterjee's third marriage with cabin-crew Roshan Singh ended in 2017. Singh later alleged that Chatterjee was emotionally abusive. [8] [9]
In 2022 Chatterjee was issued a notice from the Wildlife Crime Control cell of West Bengal in relation to a video posted on social media featuring a mongoose pup in chains. [10]
In 2023, fitness enthusiasts lodged a complaint against a gym she co-owned. Chatterjee denied any involvement in the issue. [11]

Mithun Chakraborty is an Indian actor, film producer, screenwriter, entrepreneur and politician who predominantly works in Hindi and Bengali cinema. In a career spanning over five decades, he has done 350 films, mostly in Hindi and Bengali languages, and a few in Odia, Telugu, Kannada, Punjabi and Tamil. Devi Chowdhurani is an upcoming Indian Bengali-language period action-adventure film directed by Subhrajit Mitra. The film is produced by Aniruddha Dasgupta and Aparna Dasgupta under the banner of ADited Motion Pictures (USA) and co-produced by Hassan Choudhury under the banner of HC Films Limited (UK). Based on Bankim Chandra Chatterjee's novel of the same name, it stars Srabanti Chatterjee in the titular role, alongside Prosenjit Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Alexx O'Nell, Arjun Chakrabarty and Bibriti Chatterjee in another pivotal roles. Principal photography commenced in January 2024 with filming taking place in Kolkata and Purulia in West Bengal. After being delayed multiple times, the makers announced with a new poster that it would be released in May 2025.
The 6th Filmfare Awards Bangla ceremony, presented by The Times Group, honor the best Bengali language Indian films of 2021–2022. The ceremony was held on 10 March 2023 at the ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata. Ballabhpurer Roopkotha and Dostojee shared the award for Best Film. The Award Show was aired on 2 April 2023 on Zee Bangla. The ceremony was hosted by Anirban Bhattacharya, Srabanti Chatterjee and Ankush Hazra.
