Indrani Haldar is an Indian actress who is mostly known for her work in Bengali cinema. [1] [2] [3] She was conferred with a National Award, three BFJA Awards and two Anandalok Awards.

Halder made her debut in 1986 with the Bengali TV series Tero Parbon directed by Jochon Dastidar. [4] She made her big screen debut opposite Prosenjit Chatterjee in Mandira (1990). [5] She has appeared in numerous films, telefilms and TV series and hit the pinnacle of her career with the Bengali TV series Goyenda Ginni . [6] She appeared in critically acclaimed films such as Charachar, Dahan, Anu, Sajhbatir Rupkathara, Faltu, Tokhon Teish, Mayurakshi to name a few. [7] She has also worked at Maa Shakti by BR Chopra.

Career

Indrani made her acting debut in the television serial Tero Parban (1986). [8] She lived in Mumbai during 2008 to 2013 to act in Hindi TV serials. [9]

In January 2022, she sang the Dwijendralal Ray song "Dhono Dhanne Pushpe Bhora" in a show at the request of one. However, she thought it is Rabindranath Tagore's song. And so she was trolled on social media. [10]

Debashree Roy also known as Debasree Roy, is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, politician and animal rights activist. As an actress, she is known for her work in Hindi and Bengali cinema. She has been cited as the reigning queen of Bengali commercial cinema. She acted in more than a hundred films and won over forty awards, including a National Award, three BFJA Awards, five Kalakar Awards and an Anandalok Award. As a dancer, she is known for her stage adaptations of the various forms of Indian folk dances as well as her innovative dance forms imbued with elements from Indian classical, tribal and folk dance. She runs Natraj dance troupe. She is the founder of Debasree Roy Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works for the cause of stray animals. Roy was a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Raidighi constituency since 2011 till 2021.

Goyenda Ginni was an Indian Bengali crime drama anthology television series that premiered on 7 September 2015 to 25 December 2016 and aired on Zee Bangla. It was produced by Shree Venkatesh Films, it starred Indrani Haldar, Saheb Chatterjee, Aditi Chatterjee and Indrajeet Bose. It marks the comeback of Haldar into Bengali television. It replaced the show Raage Anuraage. It got back in March 2020 due to COVID-19 situation.

Although her career started with stage plays, she is best known for playing the lead roles of Joyee in the serial Joyee, Alo in the serial Alo Chhaya, both of these aired on Zee Bangla and Rajkumari Meera / Meerabai in the mythological serial Shree Krishna Bhakto Meera on Star Jalsha,and Alo in the serial Alor Theekana on Sun Bangla.
