The 2015 Kansas City mayoral election took place on June 23, 2015, to elect the Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri. The election will be held concurrently with various other local elections, and is officially nonpartisan.

Kansas City, Missouri City in western Missouri

Kansas City is the largest city in the U.S. state of Missouri. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city had an estimated population of 488,943 in 2017, making it the 37th most-populous city in the United States. It is the central city of the Kansas City metropolitan area, which straddles the Kansas–Missouri state line. Kansas City was founded in the 1830s as a Missouri River port at its confluence with the Kansas River coming in from the west. On June 1, 1850 the town of Kansas was incorporated; shortly after came the establishment of the Kansas Territory. Confusion between the two ensued and the name Kansas City was assigned to distinguish them soon after.

Sylvester "Sly" James, Jr., is an American politician who serves as the mayor of Kansas City, Missouri. James lives in Kansas City's Union Hill neighborhood. He was inaugurated as mayor on May 2, 2011. He is known for wearing a bow tie.

A primary election was held on April 7 to determine the two candidates that moved on to the general election. [2]

Emanuel Cleaver II is a United Methodist pastor, American politician and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Cleaver currently represents Missouri's 5th congressional district, where he has served since 2005. His book Tilting at Windmills: How one man battled political power to save America’s grandest train station was published in 1998 (ISBN 1-890622-38-9). Local writer Larry Rochelle used Chastain as the basis for his Sandy Banteen character in the mystery novel Death and Devotion.

Kansas has four seats in the House, apportioned according to the 2000 United States Census. Representatives are elected for two-year terms; the elected served in the 112th Congress from January 3, 2011 until January 3, 2013.

The KC Streetcar, formally branded as the RideKC Streetcar, is a streetcar system in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Construction began in May 2014. The system opened for service on May 6, 2016. The KC Streetcar is free to ride, as it is funded by a Transportation development district. As of September 30, 2018, the streetcar has a daily average ridership of 5,672 daily riders, logging over 5 million riders since opening.

Incumbent Republican Governor Mike Parson is eligible to run for a full term in office, but has not yet declared whether he will do so.

2018 United States House of Representatives elections in Kansas

The 2018 United States House of Representatives elections in Kansas were held on November 6, 2018, to elect the four U.S. Representatives from the state of Kansas, one from each of the state's four congressional districts. The state congressional delegation changed from a 4–0 Republican majority to a 3–1 Republican majority, the first time the Democrats held a house seat in the state since 2010.

The 2019 Kansas City mayoral election will take place on June 18, 2019, to elect the next Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri. The election will be held concurrently with various other local elections, and is officially nonpartisan.

1971 San Diego mayoral election

The 1971 San Diego mayoral election was held on November 2, 1971 to elect the mayor for San Diego. Incumbent Frank Curran stood for reelection for a third term. California State Assembly member Pete Wilson and former San Diego City Attorney Ed Butler received the most votes in the primary and advanced to the runoff. Wilson was then elected mayor with a majority of the votes.
