Karasburg railway station is a railway station serving the town of Karasburg in Namibia. It is part of the TransNamib Railway, and is located along the Windhoek to Upington line that connects Namibia with South Africa.

The ǁKaras Region is the southernmost, largest, and least densely populated of the 14 regions of Namibia; its capital is Keetmanshoop. The name assigned to the region reflects the prominence of the Karas mountain range in its southern part. The ǁKaras region contains the municipality of Keetmanshoop, the towns Karasburg, Lüderitz and Oranjemund, and the self-governed villages Aroab, Berseba, Bethanie, Koës and Tses.
Karasburg was a constituency in the ǁKaras Region of Namibia. The main towns were Karasburg and Grünau; other populated places included Warmbad and Aussenkehr, and the border settlements of Ariamsvlei and Noordoewer. The Orange River formed part of the southern border of this constituency.

B3 is a national highway of Namibia. It passes through the ǁKaras Region of Namibia in the south for 179 kilometres (111 mi), connecting the B1 at Grünau to the South African border at Nakop via the town of Karasburg. In South Africa the highway continues as the N10 towards Upington.

Lucia Basson is a Namibian politician who has been the governor of the ǁKaras Region of Namibia from April 2015 to April 2020. A member of SWAPO, Basson was a member of the National Assembly of Namibia from being chosen for the SWAPO electoral list by President Sam Nujoma in 2005 until 2010, when she narrowly missed re-election. She is a SWAPO leader from the Hardap Region.
Ida Maria Magdalena Hoffmann is a Namibian politician. She served as a member of the 6th National Assembly from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2010 she was selected by president Hifikepunye Pohamba as a non-voting member of the 4th National Assembly of Namibia. Hoffman was active in SWAPO in the 1980s. She founded the Children's World Creche in Katutura in 1984 and has been involved in the Roman Catholic Church since 1962. In 1990, Hoffman studied project development at the Pan African Institute for Development in Zambia. She has also served as chairperson of the Nama Genocide Technical Committee in Windhoek.

The highway is 241 kilometres (150 mi) long. The road travels one kilometre (0.62 mi) past from Karasburg, which can be accessed by the M21. This also can be used to get onto the B3 road.
C11 is an untarred highway in southern Namibia. It starts along the C17 road, 129 kilometres (80 mi) from Keetmanshoop and finishes 319 kilometres (198 mi) later when it reaches the B3 road, two kilometres (1.2 mi) from Karasburg.
