Monika Klisara (born October 29, 1995) is a Bosnian-born Canadian professional wrestler signed to WWE where she performs in the NXT brand under the ring name Karmen Petrovic. [1] She made her professional wrestling debut in 2022.

Early life

Klisara was born in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. With her parents she moved to Toronto, Canada in the mid-1990s to escape the Bosnian War. [2] She is of Bosnian Croat and Bosnian Serb ethnicity. [3] She previously attended Ryerson University. [4]

Martial arts career

Klisara is a former champion Karate competitor. At age 17, she was a member of the Canadian National and the Ontario Provincial Karate teams. She won gold medals at the Fonseca Cup competition, the Ontario Provincial competition and the Ontario Summer Olympic Games. [5]

Professional wrestling career

WWE (2022–present)

Klisara made her first WWE appearance on NXT in November 2022 under her real name. She had her debut match on the July 28, 2023, episode of NXT Level Up as Karmen Petrovic in a losing effort to Ivy Nile. [6] On the October 17 episode of NXT, Petrovic won her first televised singles victory when she competed in the 2023 NXT Women's Breakout Tournament, during which she eliminated Jaida Parker in the first round. [7] During the following week on the October 24 episode of NXT, Petrovic was eliminated in the semi-final round by Lola Vice. [8]

On the July 2, 2024, episode of NXT, Petrovic went one on one with Jazmyn Nyx but lost due to interference from Jacy Jayne. This would set up for a tag team match between Petrovic with fellow Canadian Arianna Grace against Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jayne at NXT Heatwave on July 7, where Petrovic and Grace won. After the match, Grace and Petrovic had a disagreement on who contributed to the match victory, to which NXT General Manager Ava scheduled a match between them. [9] [10] In late September, Petrovic started a romance storyline with Ashante "Thee" Adonis. [11] On the November 19 episode of NXT, Petrovic and Adonis teamed up for the first time to defeat Brinley Reece and Dion Lennox in a mixed tag team match. [12]

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2024)

Kilsara, as Karmen Petrovic, made her Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) debut on the September 5, 2024, episode of Impact! where she answered TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace's championship open challenge where Grace won. [13]

Independent circuit (2024)

Kilsara, as Karmen Petrovic, made her Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) debut at GCW Josh Barnett's Bloodsport XII on November 24, 2024, defeating Sumie Sakai by referee stoppage. [14]

Personal life

It was reported on November 10, 2023, Klisara was in a relationship with Brazilian professional basketball player Bruno Caboclo. [15]

No Quarter Catch Crew (NQCC) is an American professional wrestling stable that performs in WWE on the NXT brand. The group currently consists of Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne, Tavion Heights, and Wren Sinclair. Dempsey is the current NXT Heritage Cup Champion in his second reign. The stable name is derived from the military term "No quarter" and Catch wrestling, a style of wrestling that each member specializes in. Their motto is "No pity, no mercy, no remorse, no quarter".

NXT2300 was a professional wrestling television special produced by WWE for its developmental brand NXT. The event was broadcast live on November 6, 2024, from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a special episode of NXT on The CW in the United States. In addition to NXT's roster and a guest from partner promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), the event featured veterans of the defunct Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) as a tribute to 2300 Arena being the prior home of that promotion.
