Karthick Naren (born 23 July 1994) is an Indian filmmaker who works in Tcinema. Naren broke into the Tamil film industry having had directed several award-winning short films like Pradhi and Nirangal Moondru before his feature film debut. [1] He made his big screen debut through the 2016 film Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru which went on to become a sleeper hit.
Karthick Naren was born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu to MNG Mani and Saradha Mani. [2] A native of Ooty, he spent most of his life in Coimbatore. Naren completed his schooling at Lisieux Matriculation Higher Secondary School. He went on to join Mechanical Engineering at Kumaraguru College of Technology. He dropped out during his third year of Mechanical engineering course to pursue a career in filmmaking. [3]
Naren made his directorial debut at the age of 22 with the critically and commercially successful thriller Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru (2016). [3] [4] [5] [1] Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru was bankrolled by his home banner Knight Nostalgia Filmotainment. The film crossed 100-days at the box office, becoming one of the highest grossing debut films in Tamil cinema. [6] The film made Naren one of the most promising directors in Tamil Cinema. [7]
Naren's sophomore project Naragasooran has an ensemble cast. Starring Arvind Swamy, Shriya Saran, Sundeep Kishan and Indrajith, the shoot of the film has been completed in 41 days. [8] Naragasooran is produced by Badri Kasturi of Shradda Entertainment. The film has yet to see a theatrical release. [9]
He has also directed the segment ‘’Project Agni’’, as part of Navarasa (2021), an anthology web series produced by Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan for Netflix. [10]

Arvind Swamy is an Indian actor, film director and entrepreneur known for his work in Tamil cinema and a few Hindi cinema, Telugu cinema and Malayalam cinema. He was introduced as an actor by Mani Ratnam with the blockbuster film Thalapathi (1991) and subsequently starred in successful films such as Roja (1992), Bombay (1995), Minsara Kanavu (1997), Thani Oruvan (2015), and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018). He made his debut as a director in the Netflix anthology series Navarasa (2021) in which his segment was named Rowthiram . The film is going to be remade in Hindi with Varun Dhawan in the lead role.

The film also features Ammu Abhirami, Dushyanth Jayaprakash, Murali Radhakrishnan, John Vijay, Santhana Bharathi, Chinni Jayanth and others in supporting roles. The film is produced by K. Karunamoorthi under his Ayngaran International banner. The technical crew consists of Tijo Tomy as the cinematographer, Sreejith Sarang as the editor and Jakes Bejoy as the music composer.
