Shooting at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal comprised seven events, all mixed. For the first time ever, a woman won an Olympic medal in shooting: Margaret Murdock received silver in the three positions event. Lanny Bassham and Murdock tied for first place, but Murdock was placed second after review of the targets. Bassham suggested that two gold medals be given, and after this request was declined, asked Murdock to share the top step with him at the award ceremony. Women had no separate shooting events at the time and were allowed to compete with men. Murdock became the first woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting.
Canada competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico, held from 12 to 27 October 1968. 139 competitors, 111 men and 28 women, took part in 124 events in 14 sports. It is the inaugural Summer Olympics where the Canadian team marched under the new Maple Leaf flag. The youngest competitor for Canada was gymnast Theresa McDonnell who was 14 years old. The oldest competitor was equestrian Zoltan Sztehlo who was 46 years old.
Raimund Bethge is an East German bobsledder who competed in the late 1970s. He took up the sport in 1975. He won a complete set of medals at the FIBT World Championships with a gold in four-man (1977), a silver in two-man (1978, and a bronze in four-man. He also took a silver in the European Championships in 1978 in the four-man event. Bethge also competed at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, finishing fourth in the four-man event and seventh in the two-man event.
Hong Kong, a special administrative region (SAR) of the People's Republic of China, sent a delegation to compete at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from 12–28 February 2010. The delegation competed under the name "Hong Kong, China" (中國香港). This was the SAR's third appearance at a Winter Olympics, and the delegation consisted of a single short-track speed skater, Han Yueshuang. Han's best performance was 24th in the women's 500 metres.
Bhutan competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This marked the nation's eighth appearance at the Summer Olympics since its debut in the 1984 Summer Olympics, and the first in which the nation competed in a sport other than archery. The Bhutanese delegation included archer Sherab Zam and shooter Kunzang Choden. Zam was the flag bearer for both the opening and closing ceremonies. Neither of Bhutan's athletes progressed beyond the first round of their events. Bhutan was one of only two countries to have a female-only team at the 2012 Games.
Alethea Nevada Sedgman is an Australian sport shooter. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, she won a gold medal in the women's 50 metres rifle three position event. She was selected to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 10 metres air rifle event and the 50m rifle event.
Petra Zublasing is an Italian sport shooter who won the 10 m air rifle event at the 2014 World Championships.
Živa Dvoršak is a Slovenian sports shooter. She competed in the Women's 10 metre air rifle and women's 50 metre rifle three positions events at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. She won a bronze at the 2013 European 10 metre events Championships in the 10 metre air rifle.
Thanyalak Chotphibunsin is a Thai sport shooter. Chotphibunsin represented Thailand at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed in two rifle shooting events, along with her teammate Sasithorn Hongprasert. She placed fortieth out of forty-seven shooters in the women's 10 m air rifle, with a total score of 388 points. Nearly a week later, Chotphibunsin competed for her second event, 50 m rifle 3 positions, where she was able to shoot 200 targets in a prone position, 178 in standing, and 191 in kneeling, for a total score of 569 points, finishing only in thirty-fifth place.
Melissa Mulloy is an American sport shooter. She competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the women's 50 metre rifle three positions event, in which she placed eighth.
Choi Dae-young is a South Korean sport shooter. She competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the women's 10 metre air rifle event, in which she placed seventh.
Tetyana Nesterova is a Ukrainian sport shooter. She competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the women's 50 metre rifle three positions event, in which she placed eighth, and the women's 10 metre air rifle event, in which she tied for 29th place.
Marta Nedvědová is a Czech sport shooter. She competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the women's 50 metre rifle three positions event, in which she tied for twelfth place, and the women's 10 metre air rifle event, in which she placed sixth.
Bernhard Hochwald is a German sport shooter. He competed in skeet shooting events at the Summer Olympics in 1980, 1988, 1992, and 1996. He is married to the shooter Katja Klepp and the bobsledder Raimund Bethge is his half-brother.
Anita Karlsson is a Swedish sport shooter. She competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in the women's 50 metre rifle three positions event, in which she placed eighth, and the women's 10 metre air rifle event, in which she tied for 33rd place.
Marina Pons is a Spanish sport shooter. She competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the women's 50 metre rifle three positions event, in which she placed 34th, and the women's 10 metre air rifle event, in which she tied for 36th place.
Sabrina Sultana is a Bangladeshi sport shooter. She competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the women's 50 metre rifle three positions event, in which she placed 38th, and the women's 10 metre air rifle event, in which she placed 46th.
Carolyn "Carrie" Quigley is an Australian sport shooter. She was a gold medallist in the sport rifle prone pairs and silver medallist in the sport rifle prone events at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur and placed 39th in the women's 50 metre rifle three positions event at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
Cari Johnson is a Canadian sport shooter. She competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the women's 50 metre rifle three positions event, in which she placed 40th, and the women's 10 metre air rifle event, in which she placed 48th.
