She won the relay event in the 1980 World Championships with the Finnish team, and received silver medals in 1982 and in 1984.

At the 1977 World Championships in Velingrad, Bulgaria, she won a gold medal in the relay, with Kaija Halonen and Sinikka Kukkonen, and placed fifth in the individual contest.
