The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad, were an international multi-sport event in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Matsushima is a town in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 June 2019, the town had an estimated population of 13,553, and a population density of 253 persons per km². The total area of the town is 53.56 square kilometres (20.68 sq mi). It is most famous as the location of Matsushima Bay, one of the Three Views of Japan, and is also the site of the Zuigan-ji, Entsū-in and Kanrantei.
Blue Impulse,, is the aerobatic demonstration team of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). The team was founded in 1960 as a team of six F-86 Sabres. They changed mounts to the Mitsubishi T-2 in 1980 and then to the Kawasaki T-4 in 1995. They are based at Matsushima Air Base, which was heavily damaged by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.

This station is about 1 km from Takagimachi Station and about 2 km away from Matsushima-Kaigan Station on the Senseki Line. The men's bantamweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1988 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 54 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 17 September to 1 October 1988. 48 boxers from 48 nations competed. Kennedy McKinney won the gold medal.
