The Kazakh national bandy team has been representing Kazakhstan in the Bandy World Championships since 1995. Kazakhstan finished third in 2003, 2005, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. [1] In 2011 and 2012 they lost the semifinals after extra-time.
Kazakhstan won the 2011 Asian Winter Games.
The participation in the rink bandy tournament of the first CIS festival for national sports and games in 2017, Фестиваль национальных видов спорта и игр государств — участников Содружества Независимых Государств, resulted in third place. [2]

Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal.
Almaty, formerly known as Alma-Ata, is the largest city in Kazakhstan, with a population of over 2 million. It was the capital of Kazakhstan from 1929 to 1936 as an autonomous republic as part of the Soviet Union, then from 1936 to 1991 as a union republic and finally from 1991 as an independent state to 1997 when the government relocated the capital to Akmola.
Oral, known in Russian as Uralsk, is a city in northwestern Kazakhstan, at the confluence of the Ural and Chagan rivers close to the Russian border. As it is located on the western bank of the Ural river, it is considered geographically in Europe. It is the capital of the West Kazakhstan Region. The ethnic composition is dominated by Kazakhs (71%) and Russians (25%). Population: 271,900 ; 194,905.
The Medeu, is an outdoor speed skating and bandy rink. It is located in a mountain valley on the south-eastern outskirts of Almaty, Kazakhstan. Medeu sits 1,691 metres above sea level. It consists of 10.5 thousand square meters of ice and utilizes a sophisticated freezing and watering system to ensure the quality of the ice.
Football Club Shakhter, commonly referred to as FC Shakhter Karagandy, is a professional football club based in Karagandy, Kazakhstan. They have been members of the Kazakhstan Premier League since its foundation in 1992.
The Bandy World Championship is a competition between bandy-playing nations' men's teams. The tournament is administrated by the Federation of International Bandy. It is distinct from the Bandy World Cup, a club competition, and from the Women's Bandy World Championship. A Youth Bandy World Championship also exists separately from the senior competition and has competitions in both the male and female categories.
Kazakhstan's President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has challenged sports organizers to engage 30 percent of the country's population in sports. The state has numerous sports clubs where people participate in various types of sports; sport facilities are available to the general public. Kazakhstan currently hosts major international tournaments; Astana and Almaty hosted the VII Asian Winter Games 2011, which drew teams from 27 countries.
The Central Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Almaty, Kazakhstan and the largest sports complex in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium is shared by FC Kairat Almaty. It also serves as the home stadium for the Kazakhstan national football team.
The Belarusian national bandy team has been competing in the annual Bandy World Championship since 2001, but not in 2010, 2018 and 2019. The plan was to participate also in 2018, but Federation of International Bandy seemingly was not interested in letting Belarus play. In 2004, Belarus defeated Canada to win the Group B championship. Belarus played in Group A in 2006, 2007 and again in 2008 after winning 9-1 against USA team, best team of Group B.
The Canada national bandy team refers to the bandy teams representing Canada. Only a national men's senior team exists at present. There is the men's national team and the women's national team. Both teams are overseen by the Manitoba Bandy Federation and Canada Bandy whose organizations are members of the Federation of International Bandy. The Mongolian national bandy team is controlled by the Bandy Federation of Mongolia. The team took part in its first Bandy World Championship in 2006. They won the 1st match against Estonia, but lost all subsequent games including the match for the 4th place in Group B against the Netherlands. Mongolia thus was classified fifth in the B Group championship, ahead of only Estonia.
Shelekhov is a town and the administrative center of Shelekhovsky District in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, located 20 kilometers (12 mi) southwest of Irkutsk, the administrative center of the oblast. Khromtau is a town in Aktobe Region of Kazakhstan, the administrative center of Khromtau District. It was formed in 1967. Population: 21,740 ; 24,089.
The Bandy World Championship 2009 was held between 18 and 25 January in Västerås, Sweden. Men's teams from 13 countries participated in the 2009 competition: Belarus, Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Canada, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Mongolia, the Netherlands and the United States. Belarus retained their place in group A by beating the United States in a play off in the previous tournament held in 2008. 44 games were played. 4 out of these were played on other sites than Västerås. Games were played in Solna, Stockholm, Eskilstuna and Uppsala. The main venues were ABB Arena Syd in Västerås, Sweden's largest indoor arena for bandy, and Hakonplan, an outdoor stadium. These two arenas are placed on the same recreation area in Västerås, Rocklunda sports park. The time in Västerås is UTC+1.

Somalia national bandy team represents Somalia in the Bandy World Championship. It is controlled by the Somali National Bandy Association, which is a member of the Federation of International Bandy. The squad participated in the 2014 Bandy World Championship in Irkutsk, Russia, the first team from Africa to take part in bandy competitions. They participated in all following tournaments as well, consistently taking the last position.
The Women's Bandy World Championships is an international sports tournament for women and the premier international competition for women's bandy between bandy-playing nations. The tournament is administrated by the Federation of International Bandy.
Kazakhstan Bandy Federation is the governing body for the sport of bandy in Kazakhstan. It is based in Nur-Sultan. Its president is Oralbay Zhaksymbetov, while Vladimir Pashkovsky is Vice-President.
Elizabet Tursynbaeva is a Kazakh retired figure skater. She is the 2019 World silver medalist, the 2019 Four Continents silver medalist, the 2017 CS Ice Star champion, the 2018 CS Finlandia Trophy silver medalist, the 2015 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb silver medalist, the 2019 Winter Universiade silver medalist, and a three-time Kazakhstani national champion (2015-2017). She placed 12th at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Having successfully landed a quadruple Salchow at the 2019 World Figure Skating Championships, Tursynbaeva is the first female skater to land a quadruple jump in senior international competition.
Rauan Orynbasarovich Isaliyev is a Kazakh bandy player and captain of the national team. He currently plays as midfielder for Sibselmash from Novosibirsk in the Russian Bandy Super League.
