Kenneth Bager (born 6 March 1962) is a Danish musician and record producer. [1] [2] [3] [4]

History

Bager started his musical career back in the mid-1980s as a DJ. [5] In 1994, he released a compilation called Music for Dreams featuring, among others, Peter Gabriel and Michael Nyman. [6] Bager received his breakthrough with the release of his critically acclaimed debut album Fragments from a Space Cadet in 2006, for which he received the Danish Statens Kunstfond award. [7] In 2007, Bager was amongst the performers at the annual Roskilde Festival. [8] From 2010 onwards, he released his work under the moniker "The Kenneth Bager Experience".

The Roskilde Festival is a Danish music festival held annually south of Roskilde. It is one of the largest music festivals in Europe and the largest in the Nordic countries. It was created in 1971 by two high school students and a promoter. Mew are a Danish alternative rock band, consisting of Jonas Bjerre, Johan Wohlert (bass) and Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen (drums). Wohlert left the band in 2006 before the birth of his first child, but made a return in 2013 while the band were in the studio, before making his first live appearances since his departure in 2014. Guitarist Bo Madsen left the band in June 2015. This was confirmed in a statement on the band's official website on 1 July of the same year.

Their 2007 eponymous debut album reached number two in Denmark and was certified Platinum. Following its wide release in Europe in 2008, retitled This is Alphabeat, it reached number ten in the UK and was certified Gold in the region.
