Keraladeshapuram Temple in Thanur, Malappuram District is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Kerala state, South India.
The temple is dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu, and is situated about 3 km south of Thanur town. Thanur, a coastal town on the Malabar Coast, was one of the earliest settlements of the Portuguese explorers. It is believed that St. Francis Xavier visited the Keraladeshpuram Temple place in 1546 AD. It was a part of kingdom of Vettattnad in medieval times.
Now this temple is a part of the Malabar Devaswam board kerala. Keralrdesapuram is a place where the name Kerala was added even before the formation of Kerala. Keraladeshwarapuram itself is important in Hindu mythology. The place is located in the center of Kerala, which is believed to have been created by Parshuram's ax throwing.

Karuvarakundu is a semi-urban area in the eastern part of Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is situated 32 kilometres (20 mi) east of Manjeri, 26 kilometres (16 mi) northeast of Perinthalmanna and 30 km southeast of Nilambur. The Olippuzha River, a tributary of the Kadalundipuzha, flows through the town. Karuvarakundu is close to the Western Ghats and hence prone to landslides.

Angadippuram is a census town and major suburb of Perinthalmanna town, in the Malappuram District of Kerala. It was the capital of the powerful medieval kingdom of Valluvanad. Angadippuram is also known for Angadippuram Laterite, a notified geo-heritage monument. Angadippuram is famous for its two temples, the Thirumandhamkunnu Temple and the Tali Mahadeva Temple. Kozhikode - Palakkad National Highway 966 passes through the town and Angadipuram Railway Station is one of the major railway stations on the Nilambur - Shornur Line of Palakkad Division, Southern Railways. It is connected to the major cities Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram by this line.
Perinthalmanna is a major town and municipality in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It serves as the administrative centre for the Perinthalmanna taluk, as well as a revenue division, a community development block, and a police sub-division bearing the same name. It was formerly the headquarters of Valluvanad Taluk, which was one of the two Taluks in the Malappuram Revenue Division of the erstwhile Malabar District during the British Raj. The city is located 23 kilometres (14 mi) southwest of the city of Malappuram at the centre of the Kozhikode–Malappuram–Perinthalmanna–Palakkad National Highway 966.
Chaliyam is a village situated at the estuary of Chaliyar in Kozhikode district of Kerala, India. Chaliyam forms an island, bounded by the Chaliyar in the north, and River Kadalundi in south, and the Conolly Canal in the east. It is located just opposite to Beypore port. Chaliyam was the former terminus of the South-West Line of the Madras Railway. Chaliyam is also famous for the Guinness World Records holder Muhammed Adil, a P.M who covered around seven km in the Chaliyar River with his hand and legs tied with ropes.
Malabar Devaswom Board is a statutory and Independent body created for the governing and management of nearly 1340 temples in South Malabar and North Malabar assigned to it. The board came into existence in its present form on 2nd October 2008 following the Madras H.R & C.E (Amendment) Act, 2008 by Kerala Legislative Assembly.
South Malabar refers to a geographical area of the southwestern coast of India covering some parts of the present-day Kerala state. South Malabar covers the regions included in present-day Kozhikode taluk of Kozhikode district, the whole area of Malappuram district, Chavakkad taluk of Thrissur district, and Palakkad district, excluding parts of Chittur taluk. The Fort Kochi region of Kochi city also historically belongs to South Malabar. The term South Malabar refers to the region of the erstwhile Malabar District south to the river Korapuzha, and bears a high cultural similarity to both the Cochin and the North Malabar regions.
