Kerri Watt (Born 22 August, 1991) is a Scottish singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Glasgow, Scotland. She released several singles independently before signing with Cooking Vinyl in 2019.
Watt's debut album Neptune's Daughter was released in 2021. She had served as a supporting act for several artists, including supporting Coldplay on their A Head Full of Dreams Tour in 2017.
Watt was born and raised in a small town on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland. At the age of 16, Watt was accepted into the South Orange County School of Arts [1] in Orange County, California, and subsequently relocated to Dana Point. [2] Following a year of study in the United States, she returned to London to receive training at Laine Theatre Arts.
In 2008 and 2009, Watt served as the understudy for the role of Cinderella, performing alongside Steve Guttenberg in a two-month engagement at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley [3] . Additionally, she participated in Bill Kenwright's production of Jekyll and Hyde , touring the United Kingdom in 2011 with Marti Pellow. Following her time in theatre, Watt transitioned professionally into music. [4]
Watt's single, "Long Way Home", was playlisted on BBC Radio 2's A-List. [5] She performed the song on ITV's Weekend with Aled Jones on 27 June 2015 [6] .
In 2015, Watt also released a remix of her song "You", produced by Oliver Nelson. [7] [8] The song achieved millions of plays between SoundCloud and YouTube and reached number 1 on Hype Machine. [9] In March 2016, Watt released the single "The Wild", which was also added to the BBC Radio 2 B Playlist, where it stayed for a month. While promoting the single, she toured the UK, visiting over 20 radio stations, and made a live appearance on STV's Live at Five in Glasgow on 22 March 2016.
In 2015 and 2016, Watt toured the UK and Europe supporting acts such as Mike and the Mechanics, Ward Thomas, Nina Nesbitt, The Overtones and Starsailor. [10] Watt also played festivals including Isle of Wight, Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Boardmasters.
From July 11th-12th, 2017, Watt joined Embrace on stage at the Millennium Stadium to open for Coldplay on their A Head Full of Dreams Tour. As Watt collaborated with Embrace, "Never" was released as the lead single from English rock band Embrace's album Love Is a Basic Need the following year, and was added to the BBC Radio 2 C-list.
In 2018, Watt took a step back from releasing music to write and record material in Austin, Texas with Metal producer 'Machine' (Lamb of God/Clutch). [11] Watt spent the remainder of 2018 road-testing her new music around the UK at various festivals, including C2C and Country Music Week and supported artists on tour including David Ramirez, Curse of Lono, and Tom Speight. For six months in 2018 while writing her debut album, Watt presented "The Americana Show with Kerri Watt" for 2 hours every Wednesday on Scottish radio station Pulse 98.4 FM.[ citation needed ] As host, Watt interviewed artists including Reef, Chance McCoy of Old Crow Medicine Show, and Jon Allen while also playing Americana music.
At the start of 2019, Watt signed an album deal and a publishing deal with record label Cooking Vinyl. On 1 July, Watt announced her first single with Cooking Vinyl, "Cut Me Loose", would be released on 12 July. [12] The song was featured on the BBC's televised footage of the Wimbledon Men's Final and made several appearances in episodes of the British soap opera EastEnders. The song was also featured in Call of Duty: Mobile for the Christmas season of 2020. Additionally, she released the single "Chasing Aeroplanes" on November 1. [13] It premiered on Bob Harris's Radio 2 Country Show. In 2019, Watt supported several artists, including Keith Urban in London, where she additionally joined him on stage to sing Carrie Underwood's vocal parts from his 2016 hit single "The Fighter", [14] as a special guest to Julio Iglesias at The Royal Albert Hall, to Rick Astley at Kew The Music and Joe Jackson at The Palladium. Watt performed a mix of solo and full band shows at Glastonbury Festival, C2C, British Summer Time alongside Celine Dion, and Cambridge Folk Festival, and as the special guest performer at BBC Radio Scotland's inaugural Singer-Songwriter Awards 2019.
The beginning of 2020 saw Watt continuing with live shows throughout the UK. In January, she performed at Celtic Connections in Glasgow [15] and as a headliner at the AMAUK Showcase in London, before going on to perform over 30 live streams throughout the Spring. Also in January, Watt performed a special acoustic version of "Psychotic Girl" by The Black Keys for The Mahogany Sessions - Covers. [16]
Watt released her third single "Kissing Fools" on 14 February 2020. [17] In March, Watt was invited to the home studio of Bob Harris to record an acoustic version of the song for Under The Apple Tree Sessions. In April, Watt released an acoustic version of her 2019 single "Cut Me Loose" featuring London singer songwriter, Samuel Jack. [18]
In 2021, Watt released her debut album Neptune's Daughter with Cooking Vinyl. The record debuted at number 11 on the Official UK Americana Charts and was described by Lisa Verrico in The Sunday Times as "an eclectic mix of spooky and sweet...a Quentin Tarantino-style soundtrack". [19] The single had an accompanying music video that featured footage from her time recording the album in Texas and shooting the artwork in California. [20] Later in 2021, Watt was a special guest to Marti Pellow at his two shows at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and the Alhambra Theatre.
In November 2021, Watt released "Feeling Alright", written with her brother Fraser Watt and two songwriter friends, Jeff Cohen and Jenn Bostic, under the group name Big Kids. The song was used by Samsung for a commercial in their 2021/2022 global holiday campaign.
In the spring of 2022, Watt released a collaboration with British blues artist Mississippi MacDonald called "Devils Chain". In October 2022, Watt was a special guest to Samuel Jack on his UK tour in Glasgow at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut. [21]
Travis are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1990, and composed of Fran Healy, Dougie Payne, Andy Dunlop, and Neil Primrose. The band's name comes from the character Travis Henderson from the film Paris, Texas (1984). The band released their debut album, Good Feeling (1997), to moderate success where it debuted at number nine on the UK Albums Chart and was later awarded a silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in January 2000.
Isobel Campbell is a Scottish singer, songwriter and cellist. She rose to prominence at age nineteen as a member of the indie pop band Belle & Sebastian, but left the group to pursue a solo career, first as The Gentle Waves, and later under her own name. She later collaborated with singer Mark Lanegan on three albums. Her latest studio album, Bow To Love, was released in 2024.

Sam Duckworth is an English musician who performs as Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. He is also sometimes referred to as Get Cape, Cape, GCWCF and Slam Dunkworth. According to Duckworth, his original stage name came from Retro Gamer magazine, from an article about superhero games such as Batman containing the heading "Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly", although a Calvin & Hobbes cartoon by Bill Watterson has also been cited. In addition to the Get Cape name, and his given name, Duckworth has released music under the moniker Recreations.

Glasvegas are a Scottish indie rock band from Glasgow. The band consists of James Allan (vocals), Rab Allan and Paul Donoghue, with Swedish drummer Jonna Löfgren joining the group in 2010 until her departure in 2020. Their platinum-selling debut album Glasvegas released in September 2008 was well received by critics and reached No. 2 in the UK Albums Chart. It was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in September 2009. The album went on to enjoy further critical and commercial success in North America and in Sweden. On 1 December 2008, less than three months after the release of their debut album the band released the mini-album A Snowflake Fell , a 6 track Christmas EP, which was recorded in Transylvania.

Its follow-up, Sunny Side Up (2009), debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. Both albums have been certified quintuple platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. Five years later, Nutini released his third studio album, Caustic Love, in April 2014, which debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts and was certified platinum by the BPI. In July 2022, he released his fourth album, Last Night in the Bittersweet.

Roderick John Hart is a Scottish singer–songwriter, composer and broadcaster from Glasgow. As a solo artist, he has released three records – Bookmarks, Sign Language and Road of Bones – and one EP, The Dylan EP. Hart also releases albums with his band the Lonesome Fire, the first of which was the self-titled Roddy Hart & the Lonesome Fire produced by Danton Supple. Released in late 2013, the album was nominated for the Scottish Album of the Year Award in April 2014. Their second album, Swithering, was co-produced by Paul Savage and released in 2016. The band made their American network TV debut on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on 17 February 2014 and proved so popular they were invited back the following week to perform a week-long residency on the show.

Her debut solo album Midwest Farmer's Daughter was released on Third Man Records on March 25, 2016. The album was recorded at Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, and was engineered by Matt Ross-Spang. The album was recorded in three days. On tour, she is backed by her band The Pricetags.

Lauren Elizabeth Jenkins is an American singer-songwriter. Throughout her teenage years, Jenkins performed regularly at nightclubs in various states, before settling in New York City to study acting. While involved with the film industry, she landed the role of Trey Campbell in Deadline (2012). Big Machine Records would sign Jenkins as a recording artist in 2013 and release her debut extended play (EP) The Nashville Sessions EP in 2016. This was followed by her debut studio album, No Saint (2019), which ranked on Billboard's Top Country Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts. After being removed from Big Machine's roster in March 2020, she independently released her second EP Miles on Me, Part 1 in July 2021.
