Kevin Jeffery Lincoln II (born October 28,1980) [1] is an American politician who was elected in 2021 as the mayor of Stockton,California.
Kevin Jeffery Lincoln was born October 28,1980, [1] in San Joaquin County,and raised in Stockton. [2] [3] His mother was of Mexican descent and his father was African American. [2] [3] In 2001,he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served on Marine One during the administration of George W. Bush. [2] [3]
He returned to California,and worked in Silicon Valley,for AlliedBarton from 2005–2008,Securitas AB from 2008–2009,and AlliedBarton again from 2009–2013. [4] He then returned to Stockton and became executive pastor of LifeSong Church. [5] [6] [7]
In the November 2020 general election,Lincoln defeated Democratic incumbent mayor Michael Tubbs to serve as mayor of Stockton. [8] Municipal elections in California are officially nonpartisan;candidates' party affiliations do not appear on the ballot. Lincoln's party preference,however,is Republican.
In July 2023,Lincoln announced his intention to run for California's 9th congressional district against the incumbent Josh Harder. [9]
Stockton is a city in and the county seat of San Joaquin County in the Central Valley of the U.S. state of California. Stockton is the largest city in the county,the 11th largest city in California and the 58th largest city in the United States. Stockton's population in 2020 was 320,804. It was named an All-America City in 1999,2004,2015,and again in 2017. The city is located on the San Joaquin River in the northern San Joaquin Valley. It lies at the southeastern corner of a large inland river delta that isolates it from other nearby cities such as Sacramento and those of the San Francisco Bay Area.

A member of the Democratic Party,he previously served as the 79th mayor of Stockton,California from 2017 to 2021,and as a member of the Stockton City Council from the 6th District from 2013 until 2017.

Mayors Organized for Reparations and Equity (MORE) is a coalition of U.S. mayors committed to paying reparations to African American citizens of their cities. The association was announced on June 18,2021,in commemoration of the first federally recognized Juneteenth holiday. Mayors from such large municipalities as Los Angeles,Denver,Sacramento,and Kansas City are part of the coalition,as well as the mayor of the small town of Tullahassee,Oklahoma,with a population of 83.
