Khaira (کھیہرا) is a Punjabi surname common among [Jatt] not to be confused with Kheirra (کھیڑا)[jatt] in Punjab, India & Punjab, Pakistan. The surname is particularly common in the city of Amritsar where majority of the Khairas were settled before the 1947 Partition of India. There are many variations of this surname such as Khara and Khehra. In India, Khehras live in Faridkot, Batala, Kapurthala, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar and Moga etc. in addition to Amritsar.
