Khalid Al-Estashi (born 19 March 1974) is a Yemeni long-distance runner who competed internationally for Yemen at the 1992 Summer Olympics. [1]
Al-Estashi's first global championship was at the 1990 World U20 Championships, where he finished 16th in his 5000 m heat and did not advance. [2]
Al-Estashi was still a teenager when he competed in the 10,000 metres at the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona, Spain. He finished his heat in 26th place out 28 that started and didn't qualify for the finals. [3] [4]
In 1995, Al-Estashi contributed to the Yemeni 22nd-place team at the 1995 World Cross Country Championships, scoring as their 3rd finisher. [5] He improved his position on the Yemeni team at the 1997 championships, placing second amongst the five Yemeni competitors en route to a 27th-place team finish. [6]
At the 1996 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, Al-Estashi placed 105th as the first Yemeni finisher. He improved to 90th at the 2000 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. [7] [8]
