Khizrabad also known as Khidrabad is an old Village in South East district of Delhi. It is situated near New Friends Colony and Taimoor Nagar. [1] The village is dominated by Bidhuri, clan of the Gurjar community who are descendants of Baba Rupa. Baba Rupa moved from Madanpur Khadar Village to Khizrabad Village. According to Villagers, Khidr-abad means "land of Khizr (a mythological figure who is said to live near seas and other waterbodies)" since the village is situated at the Banks of Yamuna. [2]

History

According to villagers, the village is about 800 years old, and for initial years it was inhabited by Kahar Caste. But around Samwat 1400, One Baba Rupa shifted to Khizrabad from Madanpur Khadar Village. the current generation is descendants of Baba Rupa who was of Bidhuri Clan of Gurjar community. [3]

The Gurjar agitation in Rajasthan were a series of protests in Rajasthan state, India, during 2008, and in later years. Violence erupted in the state of Rajasthan on 23 May 2008 when police fired on protesters belonging to the Gurjar caste who were demanding a Special status under India's reservation system. In retaliation, the protesters lynched a policeman in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. In response, police shot at protesters as they tried to damage railway lines and government property. At least 15 were killed on the spot.

Bhai Rupa is a town in the sub-division Rampura Phul and block Phul in the Bathinda district of the Punjab. It is part of Malwa region of Punjab which was granted town status in 2013. JJ Colony is a resettlement colony on the Gram Sabha Land of Madanpur Khadar Village in the south-eastern region of Delhi. It is located in close proximity to Sarita Vihar and Kalindi Kunj, about 1 kilometers from the Uttar Pradesh border. It was created in 2004 when the slum dwellers from across Delhi were forcefully evicted and relocated to the urban peripheries. Madanpur Khadar is an urban village in South East district of Delhi. It is located on Delhi-UP Border and is named after Thakur Madan Singh Chauhan. The term Khadar is attached to the village’s name because it is situated on the banks of Yamuna river.
