Khotin (musician)

Khotin is the stage name of Dylan Khotin-Foote (born December 13, 1993), a Canadian electronic musician from Edmonton, Alberta. [1] He is most noted for his 2023 album Release Spirit, which was a longlisted nominee for the 2023 Polaris Music Prize. [2]

He began his musical career using the name Happy Trendy, [3] before releasing Hello World, his debut album as Khotin, in 2014. [4]

He later became part owner of Normals Welcome, the electronic record label launched by Nik Kozub and Jason Troock. [4]

He subsequently signed with the American record label ANTI-, releasing the albums Afterparty Babies in 2008 and Hope in Dirt City in 2012. In 2009, Cadence Weapon was named Edmonton's Poet Laureate. His first book Magnetic Days was published by Metatron in 2014. Cadence Weapon released a self-titled album in 2018.

Untrue is the second studio album by British electronic music producer Burial. Released on 5 November 2007 by Hyperdub, the album was produced by Burial in 2007 using the digital audio editing software Sound Forge. Untrue builds on the sound established by Burial on his eponymous debut album from the previous year, notably through its more prominent use of pitch-shifted and time-stretched vocal samples. The album, like Burial's previous work, also draws on influences from UK garage, ambient, and hardcore music.
