James Cullen, the first Kid Quantum, was a member of the Legion who used a special belt to augment his powers. He was later killed in action, leading to a ban against members whose superhuman abilities were solely technological. It was later revealed that Cullen had gone into hiding, with a group of Proteans assuming his identity. The second Kid Quantum was also named James Cullen, but was an actual person rather than a constructed identity.

Jazmin Cullen

The second Kid Quantum was James' sister Jazmin Cullen, who underwent surgery to augment her power and no longer have to use the belt. Despite initial hostility from the Legion's members, she was eventually elected leader of the team and later entered a relationship with Cosmic Boy.

Post-Infinite Crisis

An alternate universe incarnation of James Cullen / Kid Quantum appears in Countdown: Arena as one of several variants of Monarch who were killed by him.

In Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds , Jazmin returns from limbo to fight the Legion of Super-Villains.

Powers and abilities

Both incarnations of Kid Quantum can create force fields in a limited radius, within which they can manipulate the flow of time.
