Ambassador Julius Kiema Kilonzo (born 13 April 1966), is a Kenyan politician and diplomat, who serves as Ambassador to Uganda, since September 2018. [1] [2]
Before that, from August 2014 until September 2018, he served as Kenya's ambassador to Turkey. [3] Before his current assignment, he served two terms in the Kenya parliament presenting present-day Kitui East Constituency (at that time "Mutito Constituency"), from 2002 until 2012. [4]
Kilonzo was born on 13 April 1966 in present-day Kitui County, just outside the town of Kitui. He belongs the Oini (Mbaa Ndune) clan. He studied at the University of Nairobi (UoN), graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Later, he obtained a Master of Arts degree in Armed Conflict and Peace Studies, also from UoN. [4]
After his studies Kilonzo joined a company called Toplic and Handling Limited' as an investigator-trainee. Over time, he was promoted to the position of investigations manager, responsible for investigations, tracing and fraud. Later, he was hired by Madison Insurance Company Limited in the same capacity. He then left to join Crystal Clear Loss Adjusters Limited, as the Assistant General Manager. Then he was promoted to the rank of managing director. Later, he worked as the chief executive officer of the Dynasty Group of Companies. [4]
He was first elected on a Forum for the Restoration of Democracy-People (Ford-People) ticket in 2002 before being re-elected on a Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya (WDM-K) ticket in 2007. He was a gubernatorial candidate in 2013 Kitui local elections but came second behind Julius Malombe. He was vying on a National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) ticket. [4]
In 2014, he was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as the first Kenyan ambassador to Turkey following the opening of the Kenyan Embassy in Ankara in 2012. [5] He presented his credentials to the then president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoan, in July 2015. [6]
In 2018, he was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as the Kenyan ambassador to Uganda. He presented his credentials to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in September 2018. [1] [2]

Uganda has diplomatic relations with many countries throughout Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Uganda is a member of the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Nations since 1962.
Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is a Kenyan politician who was the tenth Vice-President of Kenya from 2008 to 2013. Musyoka served in the government under the late President Daniel arap Moi as the Secretary of Kenya African National Union party (1980-1988), Assistant Minister for Works (1986-1988), Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly (1988-1992), Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1993 until 1998, Minister of Education (1998-2001); and subsequently, under the late President Mwai Kibaki, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs again from 2003 to 2004, then Minister of the Environment from 2004 to 2005. He was an unsuccessful candidate in the 2007 presidential election, after which he was appointed vice-president by Kibaki in January 2008.

The inauguration of Uhuru Kenyatta as the 4th president of Kenya took place on 9 April 2013. Kenyatta won 50.07% of the vote in the 2013 presidential election, after the supreme court dismissed the Raila petition on 30 March 2013. According to Article 141 (2) (b) of the constitution, in case the Supreme Court upholds the victory of the president-elect, the swearing in will take place on "the first Tuesday following the seventh day following the date on which the court renders a decision declaring the election to be valid." The presidency of Uhuru Kenyatta began on 9 April 2013 after being sworn in as 4th president of Kenya and ended on 13 September 2022 after handing over to William Ruto. He succeeded Mwai Kibaki. During his inaugural speech Uhuru promised economic transformation by 2030, unity among all Kenyans, free maternal care and that he would serve all Kenyans. In 2017, he won a second term on 8 August and upon a Supreme Court verdict, the results were repealed. The resulting elections were controversial as Raila Odinga boycotted the elections and as the only other active candidate, he won by a 98% victory with the lowest turn out. A stalemate would result as Raila and His partners would carry out a parallel swearing in ceremony after Kenyatta's swearing in. Riots would break out as Raila entered the country resulting in a number of deaths. On 28 March the two partnered to form the Building bridges initiative ending the tense political atmosphere present in the country.
On 27 April 2013, Kenyan politician and lawyer Mutula Kilonzo, who was serving as the first Senator of Makueni County, died at his ranch in Maanzoni, Machakos County. A requiem mass was held at the Nairobi Baptist Church in Nairobi on 8 May, followed by his burial at his home village in Makueni County, in line with his wishes.

Dr. Julius Makau Malombe,EGH is a Kenyan politician and the first and current elected Governor of Kitui County. He is elected on a Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya (WDM-K) which he won the 2013 elections garnering 163,904 votes. He defended his seat on Wiper ticket in the 2017 general election but lost to Charity Ngilu coming third behind former senator David Musila however he recaptured the seat and won after the 9 August 2022 gubernatorial elections with 198,004 votes defeating former senator David Musila who had 114,606 votes and Jonathan with 10,639 votes. As the pioneer governor of Kitui he is credited with much of the development gains made in the region. On 12 December 2022 Dr. Malombe was awarded the Elder of The Golden Heart by President William Ruto.
Richard Tumusiime Kabonero, commonly known as Richard Kabonero, is a Ugandan civil servant and diplomat. He is the head of department of Regional Economic Cooperation, at the Uganda Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since June 2022. Before that, he served as Uganda's High Commissioner to Tanzania.
