Kieran Reilly (born 12 July 2001) is a British cyclist from Gateshead who competes in Freestyle BMX. [2] In August 2023 he became the World Champion at the event.

Career

Reilly began performing tricks on his BMX at the Leam Lane skatepark, in Gateshead. He entered his first competition at the Urban Games in Whitley Bay. [3] Reilly came to prominence in BMX in 2012, when as an 11-year-old he landed a 720 – two full spins in one jump – over a spine at a skatepark in Glasgow, Scotland. [4]

Reilly moved to Corby in Northamptonshire,in September 2020, to train with other Team GB riders. [5] Reilly landed the world's first-ever 'Triple Flair' - three full backflips and a 180-degree rotation at the end - at the 'Adrenaline Alley' indoor skatepark in Nottinghamshire, in January 2022. [6] In August 2022, he won silver at the 2022 European BMX Championships in Munich. [7]

In January 2022, Reilly executed a world-first trick at Asylum Skatepark in Nottinghamshire, UK. He launched off the top of an extended quarter-pipe, performed three full backflips, and added a 180-degree rotation. [8]

In June 2023, Reilly won the gold medal at the 2023 European Games with victory in the men's BMX freestyle park in Krzeszowice. [9] In August 2023 he won gold at the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships – Men's freestyle BMX in Glasgow. [10]

He will compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics. [11]

Rebecca Adlington is an English former competitive swimmer who specialised in freestyle events in international competition. She won two gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 400-metre freestyle and 800-metre freestyle, breaking the 19-year-old world record of Janet Evans in the 800-metre final. Adlington was Britain's first Olympic swimming champion since 1988, and the first British swimmer to win two Olympic gold medals since 1908. After winning her first World Championship gold over 800 metres in 2011, along with silver in the 400 metres at the same meet, she won bronze medals in both the women's 400-metre and 800-metre freestyle events in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Kenan Harkin is an American former professional BMX rider and television personality for NBC, FOX Sports, FUEL TV, ESPN, CBS Sports and Universal Sports. Harkin is credited with being the second rider to successfully and consistently perform a 360 backflip in freestyle BMX competition. Currently, Harkin is a commentator for BMX and other extreme sports events; he was NBC's on-air talent for men's and women's BMX events at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He also was a lifestyle reporter and snowboard analyst for Universal Sports during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Andreu Lacondeguy is a Freeride Mountain biker and Freestyle motocross athlete from Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, born 12 January 1989. He is a 2013 Munich X-Games bronze medalist in the Mountain Bike Slopestyle event and a Red Bull Rampage Winner in 2014.

Jamie Bestwick is a British BMX rider. He won 13 gold medals in the BMX Vert event at the X Games, and one gold medal for Vert Best Trick.

Kevin Robinson nicknamed K-Rob was a professional freestyle BMX rider. Widely recognized as one of the best riders of all time, Robinson was integral in creating Megaramp disciplines for BMX. Aside from this, Robinson was most notable for two stunts in his career: He was the first to successfully land a Double Flair in competition at the 2006 X Games and, in 2016, set the Guinness World record for the highest air on a BMX bike in his home town of East Providence, Rhode Island. Robinson was a longtime receiver of sponsorship from Hoffman Bikes, Red Bull, and Target. Robinson died of a stroke, ten days shy of his 46th birthday, on December 9, 2017.
